What are the most unknown Disney-like Animated Movie?

While we all know about movies like the Lion King, and Aladdin. There has been a few rather unknown Disney movies, and for the most part, I do not understand why they never were as popular as their more famous counterparts. For example, the Great Mouse Detective. It was made in 1986, and while receiving good reviews, was never popular,

For this thread, the movies do not have to Disney Movies, but they have to be in the general idea those films followed.

I personally loved Great Mouse Detective. Other ones like Fern Gully, A Troll In Central Park, Rescuers Down Under, so many to list.

I remember reading that in school, I never knew Disney did the animation for it.

Easily my all time favourite. I have a few snow globes of Elliott, and I think that movie is the reason I adore dragons so much.

I also loved "The Sword in the Stone"

The thee that come to mind as the most "unknown" are the ones from the post-Bluth/pre-Menken era: 'The Great Mouse Detective', 'The Black Cauldron', and 'Oliver and Company'.

I don't think they did. It was just an animated movie based on the book.

Definitely a favorite of mine. The horned king was great. It's a shame that Disney has never made an animated movie like it ever since.
