    Planetside fans...UNITE!

    Yes sir

I remember playing the game back after a year of its release. Amazing it was. I still on & off play about 3 times a year for a month or 2 but it doesnt compare to the massive amount of armies.

So report your PSNext ideas, thoughts, or news here!

Feel free to discuss the actual game here

    MMO FPS HOOOO!!!!

    This game raped.

Hail Thor-show thy might. Let thunder roar and lightning strike!
Hurl thy hammer into the fray. And let thine enemies know fear this day!
    VICTORY, OR VALHALLA!!!

    Indeed

how was mag compared to ps? I never got a chance to play it. Its like 20$ now at my local video game shop. I remember the servers lagged bad but I heard it was probably the closest thing to ps

    My thoughts? Super excited!

No game will ever make piloting a drop ship as fun.

Holy crap did I love that game, only thing I would change is make snipers more powerful/deadly, I mean a lot of the time when I would snipe it would be flying around sneakily in Mosq's with a friend so we'd take out most people, but it would suck if you were sniping by yourself.

Also I just want the base rushes / defending back, nothing crazier than seeing dropships overhead, a few tanks coming and a whole wave of max units running against the one said no one is defending D:

Sounds like someone didnt play during the first couple years of release. Thats how it was a year or 2 ago. I dont know how exactly it works now since I jump from outfit to outfit. But near release you would be fighting over the same base sometimes for over 4 hours. I remember this huge field battle on a swamp planet...felt like I was in star wars. 4 drop ships were used mid battle behind enemy lines to suprise them. That was the operation to get into the base. I think the outfit was called NC spec ops or something. We ended up taking the base an hour later with a huge galaxy infiltration. At least 5 or so with 90% of the slots filled. It was magnificent. Lagged my computer hard on mid-day & evening weekends

I did play this game during release. FPSMMO way back when. Jumping in peoples vehicles, sneaking around, leveling up. It was nuts and very large scale. I remember some battles lasting hours on hours. I had to take breaks and go play Counter Strike (back when bunny hop and shotgun owned).

I never even heard of this game what is it like to play. A few videos I just watched make it look real cool.

That game was awesome fun. My first MMO actually, played it a couple months after its release. Hopefully blizzard can perfect the MMOFPS genre with their own game.

Through slightly rose tinted glasses it owned. There's a US server still up if you can find a copy of the game anywhere
It failed a bit at the time as most ppl didn't have either the connection or the fairly ninja computer needed to make it run nice (I remember it caused me to upgrade to 2GB ram to make it run ok). Fricken loved the game tho and yup, saw some pretty intense stand offs. Often had 200+ people per side on a base as both infantry/support/air support/maxx (armoured suits) etc etc. The whole base cap thing was stupidly simple, all the doors opened for controlling team and wouldn't open from the outside for attackers so you had to point a device at a pad on the wall for 20ish seconds to "hack" the doors then once inside a bit longer (like 40-60 seconds) at the single main computer terminal in the middle of the base. Of course if you were killed during the hack then it failed so you needed a lot of guys covering your ass from both rushes and small stealth teams.

It's the kind of game that generates stories of "it was crazy man, dodging bullets to get under their wall with mosquito's (small flying scout/attack craft) like flies all over the sky!" etc. Truely took some planning at times to get the hack in on the base/tower control pad and "win" it. Then there was actually getting the base re-supplied with power so the generator pads for vehicles worked (took a small unarmed ground unit to go get power so escorting/sneaking those back often took some effort).

Truely amazing game till Sony pushed crazy stuff to sell unwanted expansions. If they manage to keep hands off and not screw with it this time they'll have a HUGE player base.
