No idea....
Do you enjoy casters?
Can you play it competitivaly to be able to beat your oponents?
Do you enjoy pet classes?
etc.
Only youself can decide if you will enjoy it or not
Personally I find Shadowpriests more fun as a DoT class since I dislike pets and love Shadowform.
But thats only one spec Warlocks have 3 viable specs they can raid with each very diffrent and unique in your own way that alone should be a good reason for making one if intrested.
If you don't have a ranged dps now yeah you will love it, but if I were doing it all over I would take a mage or priest, a locks total inability to cast while moving really sucks ass, very few instant cast spells.
But I had a paladin as my main and now all I play is my lock.
Warlock is my favorite class. I played a shadow priest before and I did not enjoy it at all. I use destruction for PvE and affliction for PvP. The only problem is our shitty survivability against melees.
Hope you are used to pushing allot of buttons
my warlock is my favorite toon as well . partially because it was my first .
however , after 2 years of playing , if I had to start over I wouldn't have choose a pure DPS .
a warlock is like a duck...
fly - not so good
swim - not so good
walk - not so good
yeah. we do decent dmg , we have some utility , we are viable in PvP and PVE and can solo some content but tbh , some classes are just better . DKs,pallys, rogues and hunters can solo stuff better . shamans have utilities . hybrids can do dmg close or better of us AND be flexible with their role/raid needs .
so yeah..I love my lock . I think it's great . but I think other classes have much more to offer .
Youll probably have a good shot at lock only items from BH at least, theres hardly any locks left in PVE. Our guild has been looking for months.
Buy lots of lube, you're going to need it when you face melee.
For PvP: Goblin
For PvE: Troll or Orc. Probably Troll
For awesome: Undead
also, they are very good in PvP, have always been viable since the start of s1 so I woulnd't expect that to change. Also very competative in PvE.
I've never had as much fun playing a caster as I do warlock, in any mmo. Homogenisation did hit us quite badly but I still love it. We're slowly becoming about demons again, which I love. Hope the new tier bonuses become glyphs or talents some time. Played warlock since day 1 eu, never looked back.
As long as you understand the way Fear works now, still fun.
