    Magmaw 25m heroic

    Does anyone know the minimum number of ranged players required so that Magmaw will not drop pillars of flame into the melee if people stack there?
    I've read conflicting places that this was hotfixed so it requires more than 1 person at ranged.

    We've used the melee tactic a few times now, we just had hunters and kiter outside. So.. 3 people I think.

    what about the blazing construct does that still spawn on the melee or ranged like pillar?

    Same as pillar. Melee spot is perfectly safe from being hit by those bad things.

    We use 4 outside. 2 hunters + kiter + a resto druid (to heal the kiter in case of range issues)

    Not really. When the tank gets mangled you may need to run to the tanking position when he places the smoke on the ground. You also need to do this fast before his head smashes down and stuns you. If you're lucky smoke will spawn towards the tank and you never move.

    We chose a holy priest, hunter and warlock to be stacked in range and a DK kiting around the room. The construct tank runs out and gets the adds (or did in our case) and that tank needs to be aware of the pillar of flame timers. One attempt the tank was running back in with the construct and was considered range and Magmaw dropped a flame + parasites right on the group.

    Healers should still be rotating cooldowns between the lava spew because that does do a huge amount of raid damage. Of course spread out at 25%.

    Once the tunnel vision boss was defeated we got our kill.
