    Disposing of a PSU

Finally ordered my new PSU, my old one crapped out, and the story behind it is actually on these forums somewhere. Today i removed the garbage PSU, but now what do i do with it? Is it safe / legal to throw it in the garbage along with the other household items? Or should i find a place that disposes of electronic components? Or better yet can i get some cash back off it from selling it to a scrap yard?

There's a lot of copper in there as well as small amounts of other valuable metals, it's certainly worth more than garbage... look for an electronics recycle center.

You might be able to make a few dollars if you strip out all the copper yourself and sell that to a scrap yard, although it's probably not worth the time investment.
