I prefer XP, but i use 7 since a lot of software my wife needs and uses for her nursing classes, so yeah. I also have an older mac book pr that runs wow better than my bad ass pc does, as far as MS goes anyway.

Using Windows 7 but that's because it was supplied with the PC, I honestly have no preference really aslong as the computer runs ;p I've never had those thoughts of, oh I wish I had Linux in this situation or whatever.

I have Windows 7 and Crunchbang on my desktop. I have Crunchbang on my relatively old laptop too. Gotta love Crunchbang #!

Also, although the OP did not directly ask a question in his thread - except for the title. I must say that the "best operating system" comes down to what the user whats to do. I myself like to use Windows 7 for Photoshop and such as I am comfortable using it compared to GIMP on Crunchbang. However, I choose Crunchbang for my laptop as it is rather old and as such it needed a really fast OS that is very easy on the hardware. While I have decent hardware on my desktop I installed Crunchbang to become more used to it quite some time ago.

Hope that answers your title question!

I used and loved xp for years, still have Vista on 2 boxes, and think 7 is truly great. However, from the perspective of a programmer Linux will remain king. For everyone not moving to 7 from xp, you should really reevaluate. Xp has security holes so large they will never be patched. Oh wait, windows patched the holes with Vista and 7.

Love 7, hate vista, like xp

Really I like mac, did alot of video editing on it for awhile with some garageband work but nothing major. Mac's are good but its not a gaming machine and it provides the same performance a windows computer does. Any operating system is prone to viruses you just have to be careful.

Windows 7. Although Vista isn't bad since the Service Pack; actually quite solid. Love all the people who hate it just because it's the "cool" thing, to hate on Vista so.

Never tried Vista after i read through all those QQ threads about it.
    Love Win7.
    Love iOS.

Thinking about buying a Macbook but i'm not sure if i'd be able to use both a Windows and a Mac at the same time.

My favorite is Windows 7 for sure. XP was good. I don't really bother with Linux due to limited compatibility with most stuff I do, though it is a nice OS.
