Just so you know im not a fan of CoD

I enjoy rpg games (Dragon Age, dungeon siege etc)
    I like some fps (l4D 1/2, Bfbc2)
Games with zombies are always good (got Dead rising 1/2 btw)
I also like building sims (Stronghold, Black and White 1/2)

honestly, the best thing to do is get a torrent of a game that seems interesting play it for like 30 minutes if you like it go out an buy it.

i'd suggest mount and blade: warband or with fire and sword. shitty looks but amazing gameplay, combat takes a tad getting used to however

You didnt mention Oblivion so Im gonna throw that out there, from your list you should love that game, and tbh, anyone who doesnt needs executing.

Or just do what I am doing, freeze yourself Cartman style until Skyrim.

I second this although Warband is far superior to Fire and sword. As you said the graphics are shitty but the gameplay has alot of depth.

Do you have Killing Floor for Steam? Class based 6 player co-op zombie survival. The replayability on the game is literally as close to endless as any game I've ever seen, I've almost got 200 hours put into it myself. The difficulty curve is a bit brutal, but if take the time to learn the nuances of your class and get friends to play with you I guarantee you will enjoy yourself.

    Oh and it's only $20.00.

Mass Effect 1/2 and Oblivion. Assuming you don't already have those.

You could try Darkfall online, it's a bit hardcore so not for everyone but it does tick a few of your boxes, It's an mmorpg with fps pvp it has zombies in it and city building/conquering

Darkfall is pretty terrible in design though.

If you're looking for a new game that will last you 50+ hours to get you the most game for your buck, my vote is for The Witcher 2. This game came out last tuesday, and was overshadowed by the release of LA Noire. However, it is an incredible game, and I have put about 20 hours in, and do not regret the buy at all.

If you like good rpg, buy the Witcher 2. By far the best rpg I've played since a very long time.
Otherwise, try Portal 2 and if you liked Dragon Age Mass Effect 1/2 are good choices too
