How many threads do we get asking about viruses/keyloggers? Like 1 out of every 100?
    Yes, but having 24 stickies is far more annoying than having a sticky index. The index was made because we had that problem before

    Ok but atleast prioritize which stickies are most useful/active/used and replace the current stickies with those.

    New one because it saved my ass at work today:

    Clonezilla. Free Linux (I think Ubuntu or Debian based) bootable disaster recovery and disk cloning/imaging software.

    Pretty much. I use this with a boot-able Acronis Image when I need to clone drives or whatnot. Acronis will clone with far less hassle, but is not free.

    No. It's been said repeatedly. There are too many threads useful as stickies to let them all be stickies. It would be the entire first page. It's the way it is now for a reason.

    He wasn't suggesting to make more actual stickies in his last point, he specifically mentioned replacing current ones. His point is that some of the "actual" stickies are much less important or useful than many of the ones that are buried in the sticky index. He was suggesting that maybe both groups could be re-evaluated objectively and a few top priority ones can be real stickies while all the others go in the index. I think there may be some sense to it and it could result in less "help build me a PC" threads, which seems to be the most popular by far around here.

    Or, people could just hit themselves upside the head and just read for once. It's one click to open the index, and all the links are there.

    By that logic then all of them should be in the sticky index, yet there are a few that are kept as actual stickies.

    Yeah. The rules, the information that should be included in help requests, and an anti-malware thread. Even by the logic of only stickying the most important, those three still win.

    @georgevonfranken: great thinking

    I'd recommend ImgBurn for the ISO/CD/DVD category as well.

    Not really a program you as an individual can just start up and it'll instantly do its thing. Unlike all other programs, Mumble is a collective application - requiring a pre-determined structure/environment to be useful.

    Why on earth is programs like Speccy and CCleaner not a one-time-purchase? That seems a bit cheap by Piriform

    Microsoft: Visual Studio Express
    Awesome program for developing .net applications. The express version now allows commerical use and does not miss a lot compared to the professional paid versions.
