A note about Blender, it also has a built-in game engine, although I'm not fully aware on how functional it is.

Aside from that: http://www.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/thunderbird/ <- Awesome Outlook replacement with tons of plugins for added functionality.

    Hiren's BootCD - click here

Possibly the most useful BootCD you can have. It has hundreds of free software that one can use to repair or/and diagnose computers from removing password on the windows login screen to running memory tests. It has too much software to explain here. Basically, if your computer is broke, Hiren's BootCD can normally fix it if you know what software to choose. Practice makes perfect! Although, be careful!

    Good Luck!

Hell no. You want to keep that thing as far away from Windows based machines as possible. Mac OS is fine; but god damnit don't install it on a Windows machine unless you have no other option (e.g. stuck with an iPhone or iPad).

Speaking of Media players (well Video mainly in this case), it usually doesn't take this long for MPC-HC (Windows) to get mentioned in these types of threads.

MPC + K-Lite Codec Pack - This combines MPC with the K-Lite codec pack, this is literally the last thing you'll ever have to download related to media players/codecs. There is no video/music format that I've had in the last 2 years that this cannot play (unless the file is corrupted). Goodbye VLC.

Videora Ipod Converter - The best free converter I could find for converting files in order to get them to play on your iPod/mp4 player. The fact that it's all web-based can get a tad annoying, but it works so yeah = /

Easy Youtube Video Downloader (Firefox) - If you're a Firefox user you'd be silly not to have this, especially for downloading those 720/1080p videos off youtube
