With the inevitable fact that we will most likely hit the block cap in 4.2, do you guys think mending will overtake windwalk?

how does about 100 per from mending put up a fight with 5% dodge+ faster movement speed?
Windwalk will still be superior, because it provides dodge rating and not block chance. Fully avoiding an attack will always be better than reducing the damage of it. Besides, you don't change your stats based on procs unless you can keep them up reliably throughout the fight.
I thought Windwalk was dodge rating? How does that affect block?
if you are as OP says, on 102.4% combined avoidance and block, and get windwalk procc with few extra % dodge, it will convert "worst case scenario" (aka block) to dodge, leading to potentially taking 0% dmg instead of 70% (60%, 59% depending on how HS works, and meta)
what mending needs is buff to how much or an upgrade to it's chance and then it would need to proc for a % of your hp heal instead of some random ammount that way it's almost reliable and posibly worth it on spell damadge based bosse.
Actually it's more like 113 in best case scenario. 1 stam at 85 gives 14 hp baseline. Tanks get 15% multiplicative stamina modifier for being tanks, 5% multiplicative bonus from kings, and 5% multiplicative bonus from wearing full plate. 113 stam * 14 hp per stam * 1.15 * 1.05 * 1.05 = 2006 HP
If you want to be a mana sponge though, go right ahead.
