Trion quietly hit 2,000,000 subs and is expecting another million by the end of July.
Rift = not dying. Not sure what all of this talk of server transfers = death is about.

New MMO-ers are playing it because it's a prettier WoW. No big surprise.

You die.
You are dead.
Trion also looks like a way better of a company to me right now.. wonder why
that page obviously says rift has 2 million ACCOUNTS created, not subscriptions. I'm pretty sure it's much less than that, specially after the free month
don't get me wrong, I love rift and played a lot of it, and hardly believe it's "dying" like that indeed, but it has definitely not 2 million subs, only registered accounts (something you can do without even purchasing the game)
And when 4.2 comes out it will have less again xD

New MMO:ers play the game because they're not used to anything else and it has better graphics than other mmo's.
Or the WoW haters. The extreme wow haters who will believe that all other games are better than WoW because the class they played got nerfed and they keep getting roflpwned by mages in PvP.
And this makes you feel awesome about yourself because you play Rift?
If you're so insecure that you need to validate your life by being part of the in crowd in an MMO then I having nothing but shame and exhaustion for the human race.
Does that include people who try the free demo?
That would skew those number s a lot....
I played it, didn't really like it.
The graphics looked like crap compared to when I play WoW.
I thought it was supposed to look good/better?
I tried Rift and it was not too bad. I just did not feel it was what I wanted personally when I played. I think those numbers are quite impressive after 90 days. No signs of heavy attrition yet is a good sign. Personally I hope that Rift keeps growing. Blizzard needs to lose a little bit of the market so they innovate more (Not sayintg Blizz or WOW is dying/dead/old//blah/blah). Just saying an apex predator has to work harder to stay on the top if some sort of close competition exists.
I think WoW fanboys are a bit mad about competition and need to calm down
Either way, I'm going to try out Rift DDD
No rage at all. I'm quite cheery as a matter of fact.
I don't know where he was even getting his info from about it dying. I have yet to see or hear any such thing. Then left field is this post trying to prove to everyone that the game he adores is doing wonderful.
Good. It is a good game. I still stick by my original post being the reason he posted it.
And it's stuff like this that makes my original post more true. I'm not a fanboy of either game. I like them both. But anyone who even remotely says ANYTHING about rift in a way other than positive is treated this way.
The graphics look more " realistic" , less cartoony than wow - but i wouldnt say better. I felt all the areas were too open and boring - no interesting suprises when you wander round a corner - just more open country side : / certainly nothing much to explore.
and this changes anything for us because....
You made this thread to share important news? Wait....what?
