I don't really remember since i played it so long ago, but that mission in bully that had you take pics of the cheerleader chick didn't actually show anything.
And i feel for you, somehow you have even crappier game laws than we do here in brazil. (only game i can recall from the top of my mind being banned is carmaggedon and then it was some good 10 years after the game was released rofl)

This, this, this, this, a thousand times, THIS!

When will society realize that it's not the gaming industries fault for violence? The ESRB was created for a reason, "Rated M for Mature, heres a massive list of all the bad crap thats gonna go down in this game". For God sakes, the rating is on the damn cover. It even SAYS 17+(18 in some areas), yet parents still buy games such as Mortal Kombat, Grand Theft Auto and others for their young children, and then complain its THE GAMES fault. They had a chance to say "No, you're not old enough" or "You shouldn't be playing these games", yet every day we see parents complaining on games being violent and their children rebelling/committing crimes. They're young, they're copying what they see in a game, just like they'd copy stuff they see on TV, except the parents have a chance to prevent it. The whole gaming violence fiasco is just a scapegoat for bad parenting.

TL;DR - Bad Parents are Bad

Except for the fact that in Australia there is no 18+ rating, just 15+. Seems kinda silly as most gamers are 20+ :/

My visions of each country gets destroyed every day..

Apparently Canada is full of mean people.. and now Australia is full of wimps!? What's next Americans don't drink Gasoline in their milkshakes? *slurp* oh..my..god..

Seriously though.. I feel bad for australia.. for as long as I've been able to read about the stuff they ban, they've been really far out there on the list of countries that don't like violent stuff.

And about stuff that the US bans.. don't read to much into it we're not exactly all there either (No I'm not talking about pot).

That, and a majority of the higher ups don't really care about video games. They realize it's no different from a movie or a book or a picture.

Only, it's a good form of stress relieving since you get to control it. Personally I think violent video games help reduce violence IRL, because people can just use the game to let out that anger. But there will always be exceptions, there's always going to be at least one idiotic minor who thinks killin people is cool. And since parents dont want to be blamed for buying the kid the game when they knew it was wrong and bad parenting, they will place the game.

Because everyone knows bad parents dont exist, it's ALWAYS the media's fault. NEVER parents.

am i the only one that is laughing at this?

In November 2009, the Government of Venezuela announced that it would ban all video games in which the objective was to shoot people. The ban was due to widespread violence in the country.
The bill was later published in the public journal of that country on December3[60] and gone into effect 3 months later,[61] March 3, 2010, making Venezuela the first country to completely ban violent videogames in the world and making their manufacturing, distribution, selling, rental, exhibition and use illegal. Even though the proponents were not from the Venezuelan Government's political party, Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV), President Hugo Chávez supported the ban,[62] claiming there are some Internet games featuring him so players can "kill him"; and even calling video games consoles, including Nintendo DS and Sony's PlayStation, "poison" and values of the capitalism, which he considers "the road to hell".

clearly Chavez is out of his fucking mind

    Clearly!

I got a email from the OFLC (Office Film Litature classafications) in regards to this debarcle, email as follows

    Hello Romire

Thank you for your email in regards to your email regarding "Mortal Kombat" Due to recent government changes in Australia and multiple emails from parental rights groups and concerned citizens in regards to this game as well as watching the recent videos on Youtube.

The OFLC has unfortunetly has had to ban this game from Entering Australia all together to protect the youth. We yet however have yet to release R18+ for games yet as this is still being decided in governments meetings.

On a side note, please be aware that ordering this game from overseas will occur a possible $110,000 fine and/or 5 year jail sentence for importing an illegal product.

Thanks for writing and i hope this help clears things up.
Even i think their an asshole still
