    ATI Radeon 7XXX

Does anyone know when the 7XXX series is about to be released? I want to upgrade my current 5770 card until BF3 is released, but I want to know if it's worth waiting for the 7XXX series or buying the 6XXX series is the way to go?

Rumor has it 7000-series hardware is in production and will be announced at Computex (May 31-June 4). If that doesn't happen, who knows.
Moonkin maybe looking for raiding guild.

    Expectations are Q4 2011 or Q1-Q2 2012.

I can't wait to see the 7xxx series. I'd like to replace my 6950.

Just wait with buying a card, till BF3 is actually out. By then there will be new cards, or atleast we will know release dates.

And most likely prices will be lower by then

You can replace that junk already with proper a proper man's GPU like the GTX570/80.

If you're feeling that itchy though, theres always the GTX590/HD6990 or for more extravagant wallets, the upcoming Asus Mars GTX595.

Likely won't happen until 2012 because the 28nm manufacturing technology process is way behind schedule at this point.

Yeah, Kepler will probably be out before the Radeon 7k's.

Nvidia gets their chips from the same place that ATI/AMD does. If anything, both lineups will come out at about the same time.

Sounds like another over kill to me. 90% of the games out now or coming out in the next 2 quarters will run exceptionally well on a 560 non TI or better. Even a 460 GTX equivalent will handle all gaming fine. These new cards are for the Elitist group that think they need 120 FPS at all times. Unless you are running 3 monitors with some unreal resolution you probably would never see a difference.

Not necessarily. Some people might just want a GPU that can handle 1080p at full details in a passively cooled low power card. New process will help.

Thought Kepler was supposed to be 28nm too. If TSMC have problems getting good yields on this, obviously it should affect Nvidia's Kepler aswell.

I thought AMD was switching to GlobalFoundries for 28nm?

Actually google might be a deceiving bastard along with me. I find articles suggesting that AMD still have deals with TSMC for 28nm, but amd's fusion chips have used global foundry urgh.

Someone who actually followed these kinds of news articles more closely than me might be able to spread less inaccurate info on the subject. I'll be quiet.
