    Red face i7 2600 vs. 2600k

Hello, I've been trying to google it but I couldn't really find any information about the difference between 2600 and 2600k.

I want to ask the following questions about the item

    What's the difference between them?
Is it worth getting the 2600k rather than 2600?

    Regards, Inux94

The k simply means it's unlocked, ie you can overclock it. Exactly why they chose 'k' to symbolize it is beyond me.

The 2600K has better graphics (HD 3000 instead of HD 2000), it also has an unlocked multiplier setting for overclocking. That's pretty much it.

I should also mention that the graphics on the processor doesn't matter if you are getting a graphics card.

The "K" of SB CPUs versions allows you to Overclock it if you habe a motherboard with P67 or Z68 chipset, while the other, doesnt.

    EDIT: agh too slow answering

    Easier overclocking, unlocked multipliers.

Thanks for the fast responses getting the 2600k then.

Ordered dual GTX 580 so the HD graphics shouldn't be a problem, I would like to overclock it though.
