heroic al'akir(10) stormlings

Is it viable to have the MT on Al'akir to just pick up all the stormlings? Or does he take a significant amount of damage if he has the stormlings on him as well?

Also, what is your guys strat for kiling the stormlings.

we had 1 tank - who tanked 3 stormlings at the start and boss and just had range kill them

We had the DK MT take the stormlings and made sure there was never more than two up for more than a few seconds, if he know how to manage hes cds it should be np.

And about how to kill them. Wait for the first 3, then kill the first, before the buff wear off kill the 2nd and so on.

As already mentioned by other people, a single main tank can quite easily manage Al'Akir in addition to 2 or 3 stormling adds.

It's easier to have 1 or 2 ranged DPS classes take out the stormling adds at the relevant times due to the AOE damage that the storming adds give off that would overwise hurt melee DPS.

Yep, its perfectly viable to do it that way. We do it with a dps DK tanking them for that phase though; just makes everything easier to manage and control.

We have our Prot Paladin take the Stormlings, and we kill the first one when the spawn animation for the third one appears (the first one should be sub-40% at this point with 2-3 ranged focusing adds). Then continue to kill the next one when the debuff is at ~5 seconds left if not less. Call out to kill the next add when the debuff gets to 10 seconds to give people time to swap.
