    choosing RAM (kingston vs Corsair)

Hey guys, I'm mounting a machine and I don't want to spend much money. Now when it comes to RAM i've seen some interesting choices. in your opinion which one is the best?

    this one
    http://www.corsair.com/memory/xms-cl...m2a1600c9.html

    or this one
    http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX1600C9D3K2_4G.pdf

    they're both 2x2Gb DDR3 1600MHz

    thanks for the help

The linked Corsair RAM is actually 2000MHz.
So for these 2 specific I would choose the Kingston RAM

http://www.corsair.com/memory/xms-cl...m2a1600c9.html is the 1600 MHz version.
You probably meant that one, and choosing between these 2 is basicly picking the one with the lower price.

If im not reading this wrong.

The Kingston Ram runs on a pretty high voltage. Higher than what is recommended for Intels newest CPUs.

Reading the Kingston description it says "tested to run at 1600MHz between 1.7V and 1.9V".
Don't ever run your DDR3 memory above 1.65V unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing.
Seems like a marketing trick so they can put higher clocks on crappier ram. I'd go with the Corsair, or Fuzzy's recommendation
    i7 930 @ 4.0Ghz | Sapphire HD5970 w/ Accelero Xtreme | ASUS P6X58D Premium | 32GB Kingston DDR3-1600
    Xonar Essence STX | 128GB Vertex 4 | AX750 | Xigmatek Elysium
    Laing D5 | XSPC RX 360mm | Koolance RP-452X2 | EK-Supreme HF
    Dell 3007WFP-HC | Samsung BX2350 | Das Keyboard Model S Ultimate | Razer Naga Molten | Sennheiser HD650

Thank you, Evoss. Under that logic, I'm going to go out and purchase a few of these parts for my new SandyBridge platform.

Must be better RAM, since it's Corsair.

Obviously better than any other air cooler on the market.

And the most amazing power supply out there, I guess.

    (Psst. Corsair isn't > all.)

Fuzzy, I'm from Portugal and I searched all the stores and couldn't find anything from Mushkin but 2.5 SATAs

However I found a brand called GSkill, but it's unknown to me. Is it a good one?

    That'll do.
The ideal RAM for SandyBridge is 1.5v and 1333/1600 MHz.

Yeah, those are good. Lots of people have those and I never heard that someone has problems.
