Let's not be so damn gullible.

You're kinda putting two and two together to make 22. A TON of players play in China and their pay system is COMPLETELY different than $15 per month. It skewers a ton of your "basic math." Also, from what I've seen in Brasil, most people pay to play Starcraft II monthly so internationally it's not as black and white as buy game + monthly subscription.

And I would love to find the source that gave you 35% because I can't seem to find it.

And you still haven't answered what MMO-Champ's traffic has to do with the game.

And there are plenty of servers with much more than 12,000 players...

There are 504 NA and EU servers for roughly 5 million and change Western players. And please, seriously stop with the "lets not be gullible" line of bulllshit. You are the one being gullible here if you think Blizzard is lying to their investors and shareholders with their account information releases.

Doing basic math with the wrong numbers really doesn't do much. I do not believe that how much people pay in subscriptions is counted in Activisions sales, so it would be what WoW sold in CD's that would count towards the 1.4 billion.

You're exactly right. Newegg doesn't think the product will sell easily at sticker price because it won't. Any copies of Cata still sitting on stores shelves are essentially dead product and a waste of inventory space. Nearly every single US and EU WoW player owns a copy of Cata. The only people buying the game now are people who are just starting or people who haven't upgraded yet due to inactivity, finances, etc. Those people represent <1% of the WoW population almost assuredly. As others have mentioned, the cost to get into WoW at this point is very high. Lowering the price of some parts of the package can entice new customers.

Newegg might be aware that a new battle chest is coming soon and therefore could be trying to eliminate as much of their stock as possible before it becomes an absolute waste.

As most of the posters in this thread have pointed out: Newegg =/= Blizzard. And since the other portion of the thread seems to revolve around flaming certain individuals, this is getting closed.
