    Not to mention that BIOS MBR is incapable of booting from volumes greater than 2TB.
    Whoa didn't know this, that's a pretty glaring flaw o_O

    Its one of the reasons why UEFI is getting pushed - as it is capable of booting from larger (partition) volumes.

    BIOS was not designed to last as long as it has. Its got so many ugly hacks attached to it, its hard to tell heads from tails. It was supposed to be retired over a decade ago.

    Didn't know this either untill I couldn't get my 4TB RAID to work.
    You need GPT to go over 2.2 TB partitions.(At least in Windows) GPT goes up to partitionsizes of 9.4ZB.
