GTA by far, I understand why a lot of people don't enjoy GTA4 after SA. But Honestly GTA4 to me was absolutley amazing. Saints row is TOO over the top for my taste.

  2. #22
I loved Saints Row 2... until I saw the first real ad. Then the game was ruined for me

If I find out Saints Row The Third has none, I'll get it for sure.

  3. #23
Saints row isnt as much about realism when it comes to some mechanics... While I do hate getting shot when I walk down the stairs in GTa 4 its still fun. While we are still talking about the games I hope to see GTA 5 soon since Saints row the Third is comnig out.

Here is a list of of characters that will be in Rockstars codenamed "Rush" Game... This list screams gta5... I hope that its set in either san andreas or Vice city this time instead of a new zone. http://xboxfreedom.com/grand-theft-auto-5-release-date/ is my source
    Mitch Hayes:
38 – Annoying, wise cracking, highly successful FBI agent. In great shape. Does triathlons, drinks low cal beer, but still has a sense of humor.

    Miguel Gonzalez:
25 – Young Mexican American FBI agent, caught between a few mob bosses. Very clean cut

    Clyde:
23 – Moronic, almost inbred and creepy white trash hillbilly. Very naïve but in a creepy ‘it’s only incest’ sort of way.

    Brother Adam:
Welsh monk / cult leader / yoga teacher 50, very lithe, very into exploring your personal tension through gripping massage. Needs Welsh accent.

    Mrs Avery:
Neurotic soccer mom, home maker, 48, anxious and addled on pain killers. Very angry at neighbor MRS Bell.

    Mrs Bell:
Swinger, and mellow Californian divorcee. 45. Ugly but comfortable with self.

    Eddie:
47 – Weed evangelist, guy who started smoking at 30, and is now a leading proponent of marijuana’s fantastic properties. White, awkward.

    Ira Bernstein:
56 – publicist for an actress known as America’s newest sweetheart who just so happens to love animals, orphans, drugs and sex. He’s always trying to hide her latest indiscretion.

    Kevin De Silva:
18 – Albert’s fat, FPS playing gamer son. Smokes a lot of weed, has anxiety issues and a card for a bad back, very soft, very opinionated. Into making racist comments while playing online.

    Harut Vartanyan:
42-52 years old – Armenian car dealer, moneylender, would be Fagin and would be bully. Heavily connected to the underworld, but irritates people so much no one likes him.

    Nervous Jerry:
48 – paranoiac living in the sticks, near Simon, completely paranoid, and terrified of Simon.

    Calvin North:
55 – clapped out FBI agent who now mostly works offering advice on TV shows, whose only claim to fame turns out to be entirely false but a decent guy in other ways. Badly dressed. Divorced. Putting on weight.

    Jerry Cole:
53 – disabled IT expert and criminal information vendor.

    Rich Roberts:
English hardman actor, 35, who acts tough but who wants to do serious work – the only problem is he can’t quite read the words.

    Alex:
white 52 yr-old loosie goosie hippy rich guy who has lost his money and is getting desperate but trying not to.

    Scarlet:
45-52 years old unshaven female spiritualist and hippy with a love of exploring the wilderness. Very into journeys.

    Chad:
29 pretty boy misogynist Beverly Hills party boy. Made money, but not as cool as he thinks he is.

    Tae Wong:
39 somewhat incompetent Chinese mobster, loves doing ecstasy, going to raves.

    Taes Translator:
45 – VERY STRAIGHT LACED Chinese translator, terrified of his boss’s dad. Male, awkward. Needs to speak Chinese.

GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas all made me love the series. I could pop any of those games in and have a little bit of fun just because. GTA4 and saints row never really got to me. =/

Idk Saints row reminded me alot of San andreas

I personally enjoyed both but I think at present that Saint's Row understands its target audience a little better then GTA at the moment.

GTA IV for example seemed to have a huge lock on to this constant socialising thing during the game and whilst it was nice to have a break, it started to get really annoying having your F%$KING cousin ring up every 5 mins mid mission asking wanting you to pick him and go on a dinner date with him.

Saints Row on the other hand tends to give a little more free time to explore destroy stuff and just overall engage with the sandbox environment better ... like the previous GTA games used to. Sadly though the price for this is having some missions and scenes which are beyond possible which can detract from the "realism" of the game compared to GTA.

Having said that they both were fun to play and enjoyable its just they each have their own faults.

Also in case nobody has linked go watch --->http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vide...2-Saints-Row-2
Its a pretty good summary of it all in my opinion.

Yeah I heard about that was seriously thinking they may have gone off the deep end, however it's probably important to remember that even the whole story of the various instalments of GTA is quite unrealistic itself so whilst graphics are really detailed etc that both games ultimately exist in an unrealistic world.

Best judge to me these days would be enjoyment/entertainment value you gain from them.

I liked GTA, beating up people with the ragdoll cheat = win.

I'll be honest and say, I never seriously played GTA, played it to kill people. Pick up hookers, drive as fast as I can, then jump out of the car.

That's the whole fun of Saints Row. It's never been realistic.

  13. #33
GTA is so much more than just beating hookers and running over people with a car. I hope most people that play it realize that.
Saints Row is plain arcade fun, nothing more.
I personally prefer GTA and I really like GTA4 and the expansion where great imo.
I just hope GTA 5 wont become another Saint Row just because some people didn't like GTA4.
Having said that, I will definitely try/buy The third, because I like sandbox games and it seems that they really improved the game from SR2.

The problem with GTA4 is that they decided to go realistic. GTA was never realistic, especially GTA1 and 2. Also I loved the empire building of Vice City/San Andreas, reason why I prefer SR2 over GTA4. because SR2 still got empire building.

  15. #35
as a series i would say gta because vice city and san andreas make up for that pos gta4. recently though i would pick saints row. SR2 was actually fun, unlike gta 4. SR3 also looks to expand on what they did in sr2. Gta 4 is the only gta game in the series that i havent finished. it was just too boring.

yea 15 bucks on steam. and full coop with another person online. the coop was icing on the cake for me considering sr2 was already better than gta 4 without it.

GTA IV is more realistic, and Saints Row is more fun

Anyway, if you don't already see where I'm going with this, allow me to spell it out: the only meaningful MMORPG "endgame" -- i.e., something novel to do after the progression process is over -- is that of the sandbox.

I will just leave this here:
Omg do want this guy to review WoW xD Was very entertaining +10 internets to you sir!

The GTAs after San Andreas and Vice city were pretty bad.
    I loved San Andreas.

  19. #39
San Andreas was the best GTA game theyve made yet imo, GTA is more of a serious game with alot of story behind it but SR is a funnier game with more sandbox imo i love both games greatly and will be buying GTA5 and SR3
