    Gettings Songs off an ipod

I've got a friend of mine who wants to give me some of his songs, but he doesn't have a computer, so I was wondering if there was a free program that could extract songs/podcasts, etc... from an iTouch ipod to MY computer so that I can listen to them.

he can't give you the songs, that's piracy, you need to purchase them on your own

I once used a program called EphPod to salvage songs off my iPod because the battery life was going downhill fast.

I thought you could just show hidden folders and drag them out

It's pretty easy, connect the Ipod to your PC.
Enable to see Hidden files and folders. (Google how if you don't know)
Open the Ipod (should show up under the "My Computer" sections).
Once there you'll see the music files. Copy them to your computer.
Now you will need a music converter (unless you wish to put them onto your Ipod if you have one).
To get an music converter I'd suggest going to downloads.com and search for a free one.

    *Minor spelling errors.
