Confused about Starcraft builds

Hey, I tryed to look up some Starcraft builds to increase my performance in Starcraft 2 and I'm getting really confused. Why does it say I need like 27 Barracks, 15 Command centers etc?

I'm probably not understanding what that ment but that's what I got you guys for, please explain!

It means that you build a Barracks at 27 supply


Let's say it says 24 Command Centre, then you'd look at the number in the above picture - when it says 24 you build a Command Centre.

the number is your supply count, for example,

10 supply depot
12 barracks
13 gas

would mean build you supply depot asap once you have 10 supply, build the barracks at 12, etc

The more Barracks you have, the faster you pump out units, since each one can only create one at a time (except marines). Same with Command Centers, plus you get your add-on that uses up energy, the more of those you have the more often you can use em.

Both numbers seem highly inflated, but I'm just a casual Starcraft 1 player.

you can also get a map called YABOT (yet another build order tester) it has a few standard builds for each race

Most TvT builds are Marine/Tank with drops. So that'd be a 1/1/1 opener

Yea most TvT builds go Marine/Tank although people like to mix in some thor drops because they decimate the mineral line.
Because of drops you should always have a few vikings.

1 Rax into CC
or
Gas before Rax into fast Factory.

But until Plat/Diamond you build isn't the important thing. Try to spend your minerals and constantly make SCVs/Depots. Try to get a overall gameplan for every matchup.

gives you a good idea how to copy other people's build. Without doing it the wrong way just purely focus on the build and make a crazy amount of mistakes. (watch it xD)
