    [Bio] Shetani

    Name: Shetani.

    Age: 35.

    Race: Troll (Darkspear).

    Gender: Female.

    Languages: Zandali, Orcish, Common.

    Class: Witch Doctor/Priest.

Personality: Shetani can be quite the chameleon among others. She is very manipulative and can figure out someone’s mental weaknesses very quickly. She is very cool and distant, and seems unable to develop any bonds to other human beings. She is very superstitious.

Likes/Dislikes: Shetani very much prefers being alone than in company of others. She also likes seeing new places and enjoys travelling. She worships the Loas, especially Bwonsamdi. Shetani despises being put into social situations and rarely visits towns or large settlements. She dislikes pretty much every race except her own.

Appearance: Picture. Shetani’s most striking feature is her eyes. They are bright and pale, almost white glowing. She has white hair and pale skin, with a pair of large tusks which twist upwards towards her nose. She’s regular height and weight.

Strengths: Shetani is a very competent manipulator. She enjoys tampering with people’s minds, altering their memories and free will. She is also very skilled in controlling the juju.

Weaknesses: Shetani has managed to create a massive barrier around herself thanks to her mental illness. She has a very tough exterior, but below that she is extremely fragile. No one has managed to break her down so far, but if they would succeed, Shetani would most likely be an easy kill for any enemy.

    History:

    Unusual Friendship

The tribe was certain that Shetani was a special child, right after she was born. Her mother had given birth to a beautiful, healthy daughter at first that was named Kusanya. Only minutes later, Kusanya gained a twin sister. They looked exactly alike, except the second sister had eyes as bright as the moon. The second child was named Shetani. Shetani’s sister showed early signs of holy and shadow magic talent, which resulted in Kusanya receiving secret training from their parents at the age of five. Shetani was jealous beyond belief and craved the same attention. She spied on her sister, listening to the stories of the spirit world and the Loas. Shetani spent most of her time away from the other children, trying to copy the spells that her sister was taught. She experimented with frogs and other animals, and she was quite successful as well.
Shetani quickly gained other friends in the wilderness. They weren’t trolls, nor murlocs or animals. They were shapeless monstrosities, deranged ghost-like troll creatures and indescribable shadows. They started following her everywhere, and they spoke to her. Shetani spoke to them as well, but she found it peculiar that no one else seemed to notice them. Shetani was scared, but fascinated by them. She figured them to be some of the spirits she had heard her parents talk about. They encouraged her secret training, manipulating Shetani into trying her hands at tougher victims. She managed to kill a few baby murlocs for them. She loved pleasing the spirits, and she was too young and easily persuaded to realize they were fiction.
Shetani never saw the point in having friends. She never played with the other children, nor did she speak much to her family. Despite her desire to be left alone, there was nothing she could do about the other children’s curiosity. One day when Shetani left her home to continue her own training she was followed by another young girl. When the child heard Shetani speak to the “spirits”, she could not help her curiosity. She approached Shetani, asking her about her friends. Shetani felt cornered, not knowing how to handle the situation with a stranger asking her those personal questions. Shetani acted on instinct when she jumped the other child, strangling her to death. The young priest remembered the stories though. The little girl’s spirit would haunt Shetani forever if she didn’t stop it. There was no hesitating when Shetani tore the body apart to devour the heart and brain. She hid the other parts on various places to cover up her actions, and to ensure the spirit wouldn’t get her. Shetani’s imaginary friends had never been so proud before of her actions.

    Denied Training

When Shetani and Kusanya became older they both received proper training to become priests. Kusanya showed great potential once again, quickly becoming the best student of their tribe in many years. Shetani performed quite well too but she could not hinder her jealousy at all. Once again her sister got all the praise and attention, when it was Shetani that was the special one. Shetani gained a much deeper understanding of the spirits and the Loas during this time, and she learned about Bwonsamdi. It was then that Shetani understood the meaning of her friends. Shetani became convinced that her contact with the “spirit world” was because she had been chosen by Bwonsamdi. She thought she could hear his whispers, and Shetani was certain she had extraordinary powers.
She took great pleasure in participating in sacrifices and various rituals. Shetani watched the witch doctors closely. She wanted to be one of them, she felt united with them. But when Shetani asked for training they only laughed at her. It was unheard of to have female witch doctors in their tribe. Shetani would have to stick to her current training. She didn’t mind it, but she despised having to master the balance between shadow and holy magic. Shetani only took interest in the dark part of her training, much to her teacher’s disproval.
Although Shetani was happy to be in training, she could never find any peace. Her spirits tormented her, they craved her attention constantly. They were thirsty for blood, and although the rituals calmed them, they were never satisfied. Shetani felt their hunger, it had been a part of her ever since she killed that child. It was unbearable. Shetani reluctantly followed her instinct, and managed to practice her magic on trolls from her tribe that managed to stray too far into the wilderness. It didn’t take long until Shetani began taking more and more pleasure in every kill.

    Seeking the Right Path

When Shetani was 25 years old the orcs came to their islands. Shetani never took much notice of them until their tribe gained a new leader, and promised to take them to Kalimdor. Shetani was intrigued; it was the opportunity she had been waiting for. As soon as they reached Kalimdor Shetani managed to escape their tribe. She would never live up to her true potential with the Darkspear, so she travelled south, seeking some other meaning to life. Shetani was in no rush, she explored as much as she could on her way. After a few months she reached the desert Tanaris. It was by chance that she met Ndoto, a Gurubashi witch doctor that had travelled to Tanaris to live in peace. Shetani never cared about him or his past, but she was very interested in his powers. She tried to persuade him into teaching her to be a witch doctor. Shetani managed to strike a deal, he would teach her in exchange for her female company.
Shetani was very successful. She learned extremely quickly and her skills quickly surpassed her teacher. Ndoto had never trusted Shetani, but as soon as he realized how powerful he had made her he got truly nervous around her. Shortly after his realization Shetani killed Ndoto while they were mating. When Shetani continued to cannibalize on his remains she had an epiphany. She felt the familiar rush and euphoria, but also empowered. Bwonsamdi had blessed her with the ability to consume her victim’s powers. The realization made Shetani ecstatic. She quickly set off north, with a new target in mind.

    Perfection

Shetani got back to Durotar and found the Darkspears quite quickly. There was no trouble for her to rejoin, her eyes had always made her stand out. They had recognized her right away. They welcomed her back and told her of their recent developments. Shetani learned that her tribe had turned their back on voodoo, trying to fit into the so called Horde. Shetani knew right away there was no room for her with the Darkspear any longer, but she would not stay for very long. Shetani reunited with Kusanya, much to her sister’s delight. Shetani lied to her sister, telling her a story of how she had gotten separated during their travels and not been able to find her way back until that day. Kusanya was naive and gullible, she had never seen her sister’s true colors. It was almost too easy for Shetani to dispose of her, she didn’t even had the guts to fight back.

Shetani left the same night. She did not know where Bwonsamdi would take her next, but she was ready to obey him and her spirits. She was finally complete and ready to conquer the world.
