    Shaman and Hunter

Ok so I am coming back to WoW after some time away. I have a shaman ele/enh (hate healing never got hang of it in cata) and a hunter that are both 85 and i want to get raid ready.

Question is what is the raid dps spec of choice for shaman ele or enh. And what is raid spec of choice for hunters. I really want to be marginally ready to raid firelands after gearing up a bit and relearning the specs.

    Thanks all

All 3 hunter specs are very viable though if you want the best dps possible, then go MM.
As for Shammies, atm Enh is ever so slightly ahead, especially on movement fights, but in 4.2 (which will hopefully be released next week), Elemental will recieve huge dps buffs in the form of a new glyph + t12 2pc set bonus which will boost elemental hopefully into one of the highest dps specs in the game.

Well, according to stateofdps, MM Hunter is at the top; good news is though, most specs (except for the bottom few) are really viable and there's not that big of a difference between them all.

    That said, my opinion on:
MM Hunter: supposedly the "best" damage-wise, although Careful Aim is being nerfed in 4.2. Also, it feels sort of "clunky"
Survival Hunter: I like this better than MM, it feels more dynamic and smooth. Also, better AoE, although if you don't like using Trap Launchers you'll be better off with MM.
Enhancement Shaman: I don't play with this much... I personally think that there are better melee classes out there
Elemental Shaman: I love this spec. With the new caster staff, can you spell "multiple Lava Bursts"? Also, the rotation is extremely dynamic and fun. 4.2 will bring more mobility, too.

    Sort of clunky!?
Its the closest feeling to beeing in a wheelchair without arms you can ever get.
My main is a MM / SV hunter and MM makes me wanna switch main, its that boring to play.
And ive been raiding as a hunter for 3+ years.

Blizzard really messed up with the new MM changes in Cata.

If you want to top charts, go MM and forget about everything else.

I find funnier elemental tho, but in a movement fight you're gonna be screwed. And if you have to interrupt in that fight like in the omnotron def system, forget about making any DPS. But still funny.

And for what i've seen, enhacement shaman is one of the worst melee DPS atm.

if you roll your shammy you will be asked a lot ( and then a again a hour later when they forget) if you have a healing spec.

Sunds like you are playing as the hardcast aimed shot spec, which is indeed a very crippled way of playing this game. Try to ditch aimed entirely outside rapid fire and heroism and use arcane shot as focus dump instead as this will give you more mobility and flexibility. Try to change some haste into mastery as well.

You shouldn't spread false information as its clear you didn't do any research on this . Feral is by far the worst melee spec currently.

OT: Elemental is fun as hell but its typically low on the DPS. Enhancement is good melee at the moment. Marks is the best dps spec in the game, even post nerf.

You should read before you slam him.
He said ONE OF the worst; which we are. You posting a singular link from Simcraft, which provides absolute perfect situations. Subtlety is performing unbelievably badly on logs, because it requires such a stupid amount of foresight to manage that it just simply doesn't work. If YOU did research outside of one site, you would find http://raidbots.com/dpsbot/ of which analyses real logs from players which indicates instead that subtlety, unholy, and enhancement are the 3 bottom melee.

Enhancement gets progressively worse the further into content you get. You'll start high and feel very useful, and you'll slowly but surely drop in the charts. However, the spec is fun and interesting, but if you want to provide a solid amount of consistently high DPS throughout the tiers, Hunters of any spec will probably suit you better.

Enh shamans aren't at all "good". Go and take a look at the Shaman forums, and see the page-after-page-after-page of QQ.
