justice points to honor points

Ok! Maybe this is a stupid question. Which would explain why I haven't seen anyone ask or suggest it. Or maybe it has been discussed and I just didn't see it.

Ok. So 4.2 hits, all valor changes to justice, as well as conquest to honor. My question/idea is this:
I don't PVP so
I change all my current JP to Honor. Apparently there isn't going to be an immediate cap for Honor right out the door. So I continue to stack honor with the JP conversion.

4.2 hits, any valor i haven't spent gets converted to JP. So let's say that maxes out to 4000. I spend those, While I then be able to convert all my honor back to JP and technically refill my meter? I hope this makes sense, and I'm not dumb for thinking this. Seems plausible, but ive only been playing since January so I have never gone thru a tier change

you will lose over 50% of JP
375 JP -> 250 honor first conversion then 375 honor -> 250 JP second conversion.

1.5*1.5=2.25 so you buy 1 JP after 4.2 for 2.25 current JP

pretty sure there isnt an immediate cap on EITHER JP or Honor Points - EDIT: Apparently not, there IS an immediate cap on JP

they are giving a weeks grace period in order to spend points that are in excess of 4k

after that week, any excess points are then converted to gold (1 pt = 35 silver)


doing the conversions also loses you a chunk of each time you convert too
375 becomes 250 each time you convert, regardless of which way you go

so its doable, but inefficient imo

I get that there is a loss but as of right now My JP just sit and stack and I buy random stuff just to spend them so I'm not capped constantly. So the loss is minimal at this point because otherwise they are wasted anyway. Just wanted to see if it would actually work out, even if its a loss. Some is better then none and the gold is less important to me then the gear

Valor to Conquest is the better conversion if you have extra since it's a 1 for 1 ratio. The when 4.2 hits conquest becomes your honor.

But since I don't PVP I would still need to convert the honor back to justice. So there would be a little loss but I see your point. I mostly tank so getting point comes quick, especially JP. I'm gonna have a lot of free time prior to 4.2 release so i just want to maximize what I can and not waste. It would be nice to get the rest of my taking gear and all my DPS quickly. the way i read it is this

you have currently 4k justice? + x valor
you have y honor and z conquest

you want to have the 4k justice cap when patch hits and 'save' some of the overspill by sticking some justice into honor preventing it from becoming gold?

if so as stated there is a week where you can go over 4k from the conversion but you cannot generate anymore justice until you go under the 4k ammount so it seems you don't need to do anything? jsut make sure you log on in taht first week and spend your excess.

I turned justice into honor up to the 4k cap (I dont pvp), and I'm almost back to 4K justice. I plan on turning all of the honor back into justice after the patch hits (an extra ~2667 Justice right away). If I have extra Valor right before the patch I'll turn it into Conquest (since honor can go over the 4K cap, but Justice cant). I don't see why they would take away the ability to convert it, and after all this farming I sure hope they don't!

You CAN'T get JP over 4k cap. Honor only.

With the release of patch 4.2 all Valor Points will be converted down to Justice Points up to the 4000 point cap, with any points over the cap being converted to gold at a rate of 47 silver per point.

For example: I have 3300 Justice Points and 1600 Valor Points. Upon logging in after 4.2 releases I’ll see that my Valor has been down-converted to Justice; I now have 4000 Justice Points and 0 Valor Points. 900 of my Valor Points were over the 4000 point cap, they converted at a rate of 47 silver per point (.47x900), and so I received 423 gold as compensation.
