I played a lot of games, most better than the ones i chose.
My favorite videogame of all time are based on what influence they had on my and my development.
Yes i do believe some games hold some lessons that need to be learned, books do, why shouldn't games?
They hold a special place in my heart not for the gameplay or hours of fun, but because of the story and characters i could relate to best

Hard to decide. I'm in the same boat as you OP. I played both those the most during my childhood.
But I think I had the most fun with Mystical Ninja, weird story, funny characters, epic robot battles, and an insanely awesome soundtrack. It was just very different but similar to Zelda and it's a shame the series didn't continue after great adventure in NA. There weren't as many puzzles but it had a lot of platforming jumping and a lot of enemies to just smash.You better herp yourself before you derp yourself.

Portal 2, everything about it.
Awesome action, characterizations, humor, plot, "hidden" deep plot, soundtrack. Gonna be hard to beat it

Tough call...
I never played Ocarina of Time as a kid, unfortunately, so it hasn't had as big of an impact on me as Majora's Mask did.
Majora's Mask, DK 64, and Paper Mario were all great games for me, growing up. It's hard to pick a solid favorite.

My favorite games growing up as a kid and now presently.
Sega Genesis - The first Sonic the Hedgehog, NHL 91 and NFL 95.
N64 - Golden Eye
PC - The Longest Journey, FF 7 and World of Warcraft
Playstation - Syphon Filter
Many more games, but it's all I can think of off the top of my head. I was never a huge RPG fan and I didn't care for games like Zelda growing up, but different strokes for different folks.
