modern warfare 2 multiplayer .exe not working

when i click on iw4mp.exe it says it not working and i cant start the game. singleplayer works fine but multiplayer doesnt and i care about it only. earlier when i had the game it worked fine. lately when i installed it again it broke.

i tried reinstalling the game, plugging in the microphone, got newest graphic card drivers. what else can i do to make it work ?? :S

Did you install it through steam or from a disk?

If it's steam, then right click the game in your steam library>>Properties>>Local Files tab>> Verify Integrity of Game Cache
