After playing through both i have to say Vashj'ir was much more interesting

Same I play both on characters i'm levelling. With all the guild and heirloom bonuses plus a few instances I was dinging 85 as I left vash'.
It's lovely to look at but in most cases annoying to quest in (certainly the naja based half) so I get it out of the way. I generally go hyajl, vash then look at what my character needs from reps to decide where to go next. My most recent 2 up have been plate so gone twilight for the imba tanky boots. Next one up is either another plate or leather so will see.

I wholeheartedly agree. I did both on my main, and on subsequent alts I only did Vashj'ir. I don't plan on doing dailies on my alts anyway.

I did Vashj'ir on the first character I leveled to 85 who I no longer play. I've since done Hyjal on the two that I did level next and do play. I have no regrets.
