    Holy Word: Sanctuary

Was it Ninja buffed? It seems to be healing a lot harder, even the non-crits. It was 8% of my healing on the spider firelands boss. Critting for around 2k

  2. #2
As blizzard announced earlier; They wont boost it. It's the weakest "healing ring", but holy priest had more than enough aoe heang with PoH and CoH. Can't say for sure but this was posted just a week ago or so, cant imagine they changed their mind :P Btw, remember that critt heals has been increased from 150% to 200% this patch

  3. #3
Yes, that is why I said non-crit. When everyone was on it it was critting for 400 pre patch, now it is critting for around 1500-2k. 200% wouldn't make it that much. Only thing I can think of is that it is glitched and is no longer dividing the heal.

10 or 25 man? Sounds like 25, and if yes, does it sound strange. The patch note doesn't say anything about it, it could be a bug or even a boost. You should try standing in it alone and check the heal's. If the healing is the same, its a bug, if it is higer they have buffed it. But there is a possibility that they have removed the dividing :P

Test it with only 1 target in it Should give you some answers.

    a) its buffed
    b) the healing isn't divided among players (bug or buff)

    Y
ou can see average hit is 795, average crit is 1611, and it was my 5th heal at 8% of my healing. On that fight we were stacked the whole time. The average tick should have been around 450.

Thanx for the WoL, it appears that it's buffed. The current patch note and blizzard's announcement that it was powerful enough as it was made me quite sure it wasn't buffed at all. So it would be interesting to see what blizz say's in the future.

Yeah, normally it was way at the bottom of my healing meters. Honestly I do not think that it should be changed from how it is now. Resto druids got a huge boost to their mastery, so I think all is fair

I am playing on EU, still 1:30h left until our servers is open again, and ready for 4.2. I am mostly playing disc, but I guess I will play holy for some of the new raid bosses. No doubt that this will improve our healing a bit :P

I was surprised that EU didn't get the patch before us.

One bump because I posted this early morning.

I can confirm that I'm seeing higher output in my 25 man raid last night.

Are you guys sure that it isn't just the new styles of boss fights which seem to have more constant raid damage instead of short bursts?

I ranked 15th (at the time) on WoL for that fight. My log from that fight shows Sanctuary as my 3rd highest spell, even higher than CoH which I don't think has ever happened.

Here's the line from my log for Sanctuary:
    hits:1187 avg:588.4 total:698414
    crits:312 avg:1014.0 total:316359

The spell used to CRIT for 450 with everyone standing in it. You can see from my logs that it is critting for an average of 1600. Also, even on Al'akir hardmode, holy word: sanc NEVER beat out CoH. That fight is literally constant damage. You might be doing something wrong if your HW:Sanc is beating your CoH. Are you using it on CD?

This analysis was done on a private forum.

Looking at 6/22 I see a lot of numbers like:
[21:10:26.211] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Madmoos +254
[21:10:26.211] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Wikkodemus +252
[21:10:26.211] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Mhalady +268
[21:10:26.211] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Nehta +277
[21:10:26.211] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Spelled +270
Moving forward to last night, I see more like:
[22:56:54.201] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Bluffen +924
[22:56:54.201] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Blakbanana +909
    [22:56:54.201] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Lalana +0 (O: 931)
    [22:56:54.201] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Grace +0 (O: 908)
    [22:56:54.201] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Unisashimi +0 (O: 909)
So last week you hit 5 for 250-280 each, now it's low 900s each. Big overheals.. last week was 43.3%, this week 61.5% (Uni was 78.6%). The spell description says it goes down as you hit more people, but here is hitting 16 for basically 900ish +/- and it crits!
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Revenir +*1753*
    [22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Bluffen +*0* (O: 1802)
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Pryydrom +900
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Cptkangaroo +*1778*
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Auggie +982
    [22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary MadCat +*196* (O: 1562)
    [22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary BlakTuTu +341 (O: 504)
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Blakbanana +895
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Lalana +898
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Bluesheild +915
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Grace +*1685*
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Lashanx +1059
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Spelled +874
    [22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Giggler +321 (O: 576)
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Unisashimi +891
[22:56:15.898] Rosslyn Holy Word: Sanctuary Zalessa +905

The larger base heals could be caused by Blizzard correctly applying a spell power coefficient to the heal (seems like before it was healing for exactly what it said, unmodified.. how many spells do that?).

On the other hand they clearly broke the "6 person" limit .. which is likely a bug. Sadly.

I don't CoH on CD as much as I should, same with PoM. I have taken steps recently with my UI to help me monitor those better.

When I look at Sanc on my old logs (2 weeks ago), its normal hits were about half of what they are now. It is looking like Sanc may indeed be broken and doing more healing than Blizz intends or maybe it was a ninja buff. Now if they can just boost Divine Hymn I will be happy.

Now that you mention it, I seem to recall a patch note or a blue post somewhere where Blizz was fixing Sanctuary (it wasn't applying the SP coefficient) in just the way you said but I thought that was a while ago in a previous patch.

Wait, when did Sanc ever have a 6 person limit?

Healing effects diminish when more than 6 people are standing in it. Now it seems to be completely disregarding that and just healing everyone as though there was only <6 people.

Yeah, that is what I was guessing Cephius. I really hope this stays though lol.
