I would say that logging in to the game and getting the Anniversary FoS is the easiest. You just have to log in.

The next easiest would be having any of the collector's edition or BlizzCon pets on your account and picking them up from a mailbox.

Then the RNG mounts.

Anniversary feats are easy to achieve, you just have to wait for WoW's anniversary. The Raven Lord and Swift White Hawkstrider are easy feats to achieve also. Also, if you don't mind spending 20 days working for a feat, you can earn the Winterspring Frostsaber or Venomhide Ravasaur for your faction, respectively.

How do people find these threads?

You go on MMo-champs and check the recently posted threads or achievements tab.

If you want to spend money, hero of shat might be a decent one to for.
If you want time consuming ones, legendaries and mount ones depending on your rng are good.
If you want neither of the above, just login for the next wow aniversary.

Almost any mount farming achievement. It doesn't get harder because you have to do it over and over again.

I never missed a single day of the halloween boss and I do not have that F'ing mount!
