Crysis (original) coming over to XBox 360 and possibly PS3.

A new and interesting listing sneaked up on the Korean Ratings Board website today. According to the listing, Crysis is headed over to the Xbox 360, something that I was almost sure would never happen.....

I'm fine with this. Obviously they'll have to do some pretty major tweaks and it'll never come even close to looking as good as it did on PC (some levels may need a complete overhaul). But after 4-5 years of PC gamers having a blast with it, I think consolers should atleast get a *slight* sample of what Crysis was about, albeit a watered-down, heavily-optimized sample. That's right, PC-to-console porting as the way it should've always happened :P
It also won't do any harm for Crytek to make a few bucks on the side, maybe they'll invest it into further developing CryEngine 3 (kidding, that won't happen >_<)

It's perfectly fine. No PC versions will be harmed in the production of that port.

Crysis? Was it that game that could only run smooth on hardware that didn't exist when the game came out?

I think you're thinking of Doom 3 when it originally came out

On maximum settings, yes. Hell even 4 years later the average gaming PC is not enough to run it smoothly at max settings.

Crysis 1 will bring down the top computers today to their knees with everything maxed (actually, it's quite impossible to have everything maxed in the engine).
