27" iMac for Gaming

Well, we do agree this system isn't meant for gaming. But running below native resolutions mostly gives fuzzy results, don't know how the iMacs screen reacts to this though.

Maybe OP is better off with a MBP instead of an iMac.

yes, maybe a MBP is better. Though the screen of the imac you barely notices the lower resolution due to some clever filters it uses

Nice. I did notice it on my laptop a lot when I reduced from 1680x1050 to 1440x900 on a 15" screen... That's actually a higher pixel density than the iMac screen.
