Five years after their last album (with a Greatest Hits and a solo album from Brandon Boyd thrown in between), Incubus has their new album, "If Not Now, When" releasing July 12th. Three of their songs (that I've found) are currently available already:
Promises, Promises
If Not Now, When
Adolescents
One of the great things about Incubus is that their songs, and their albums, are different. You don't feel like you're listening to the same song over and over like you can with other bands.
And even if they're not your cup of tea, you can't argue that Brandon Boyd has one of, if not THE, best voice in rock today. All that you hear, there's no digital shit in there. It's all him.
So far I'm liking it well enough. I feel though, that "Promises, Promises" sounds a bit "pop-y", like their just forcing themselves to get radio airtime. It wouldn't bother me in the least, the rock station here hasn't played a new Incubus song since "Talk Shows on Mute". In any case, I'll be the first in line wherever I go to pick it up, if I don't just order it online.
