Problem with headset.

So, when I talk on vent, my headset picks up any sound whether it be the music in the background or people talking at the same time on vent. So when I talk, they hear themselves as well as my music. Help plox

Sounds like your headset has no kind of sound filter.

If it has always been that way then you simply have a cheap and replaceable headset. Anything above 25 dollar should at least feature rudimentary environmental filters.

What might help in your case though is if you increase the trigger volume (the volume level at which vent starts broadcasting what you're saying) or simply resort to push-to-talk.

Sounds like Stereo Mix is on.

Make sure too that vent settings are correct, using the right devices for input and output, and that the mic isn't in the wrong spot for some reason. Directsound on for both.

Make sure the recording tab doesn't have the mic used for output as well.

Listing your OS would also be hugely beneficial.
