In my opinion if Blizzard sold gold for a really good price it would get rid of all the damn gold farmers. Hacked account could well be a thing of the past! Discuss.

You don't see the many obvious reasons why this would be a TERRIBLE idea?
"Imagine coming across a mentally disabled person who was not only drunk, high, but had a full frontal lobotomy leaving little to no intelligence left in their body.
He would be NORMAL, compared to me."
but then the game would be too easy, even though it alrdy is...
No. Absolutely not.
no because then everyone would be able to buy power, even tho you can atm ie Buying gold-> buying gear you can be banned for buying gold. If blizzard started selling gold today in 3 months time you'll be making another stupid forum post saying Should blizzard Sell tier gear?. So no they shouldnt sell gold.
Adding gold into circulation (no matter the source) decreases it's value as a whole, that is the main difference between if Blizzard sold gold (which would create new gold) and current gold selling sites, Blizzard knows this and it additionally gives an unfair advantage (albeit slight) to people who do it thus Blizzard will never do this so there is no point speculating.
Also Gold Sellers would just beat their prices.
One word: Inflation
Everyone that does not buy gold will not be able to afford anything
tin foil hat on: I recon they already do >.>
What is there to discuss, OP? Nothing good can come from adding that much more gold to the economy.
"Oh yay! Happy little deer!
Now they can grow up and have ADVENTURES.
You're swell. "
- Mylune(aww... she said I'm swell <3 )
Being able to buy gold with no issues would completely ruin the game and economy. It wouldn't be long before you saw guilds form of rich bastards that do nothing but manipulate the economy.
It would suck, basically.
Be reasonable. You might be right, you could be wrong, but either way most people won't change their minds if you keep shouting at them.
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always want to be."
Because it would ruin the in-game trade markets.
For those who don't play Diablo II, the game is basically all about farming. In fact, the entire game world is instanced and "Boss runs" are when people go to kill instanced bosses (without a raid lockout type mechanic) to get loot. I say this because gold was so meaningless, that the game economy switched entirely to trade, and the value of objects was measured in SoJs (Stone of Jordan was a somewhat rare ring item that was used as currency)
The reason I say this is because my introducing another way to acquire gold, in mass amounts, and by a reputable and LEGAL source, the gold value of items would drops, and trade with BoEs would become the only viable way to trade, so says history via Diablo II.
To answer the title question...
No.
"I feel bad for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day." - Frank Sinatra
Nononononononononono!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would work - in the short run. If blizz started selling gold everyone would have a lot. Volatile Earth for 10k? No problem! You still have 990k left. Gold would simply become irrelevant.
After a while people would start using something else instead of gold - something that cant be bought from a vendor. Gems, ores, leather, anything. And the hackers would start hacking again to come by this new currency.
No, because then people would whine that the game is getting to easy and Blizzard is selling upgrades.
I'm not insinuating that that isn't what would be going on - I'm just saying no they shouldn't because of how much whining and crying there'd be.
why dont you add a poll? i think they should
