    Even with the new souldering (spl?) technique that's surfaced lately? Not that I would want to either way (seeing as I have a 6970).

    Which is why I would base the merits of the 6950 as counting as a 6950. If I *COULD* flash it to a 6970 well that'd just be a bonus.... but it's not really worth the gamble if the 6950 on its own as a 6950 wouldn't cut it.

    from what i read, its a lazer cut across the GPU, you'd have to be mighty skilled with lead to fix that

    hmmm, well i can't seem to find the original article on the lazer cut, what i did find is that they lazer cut out some shaders and thats about it, but there does seem to be problems trying to flash the latest batch of 6950's
