How many volcano stacks can you handle on Rhyolith?

Simple question. Mainly looking for people on 10 man but still post how your raid is doing. Post with what your healer comp is (classes/specs), if you're 10 man or 25 man, normal or hard mode, and most importantly how many stacks of the volcano debuff becomes unhealable and it pretty much becomes a wipe.

I have a feeling this is an issue in our group. We're 10 man, normal mode, 2 druids one holy priest, and we seem to wipe and the healers say it's unhealable at 10-15 stacks. So are our healers the problem? Should they be able to keep people alive through that many stacks? Or do we just need to kill volcanoes quicker? It seems like we get 10-15 stacks (our "fatal amount") if we get an unlucky volcano activation on the other side of the platform.

BTW make sure if you were working on it after the hotfix it's all combined stacks you're posting, not just stacks from one single volcano.

If it goes anywhere above 6-7 we start having issues, and the Spark tank might very well die.
10-15 stacks i really can't blame your healers for screaming at you :P

18 is the highest I've seen but we died soon after. 12 or so gets fatal. Your driver is the problem. We used to be the same as u but now stacks don't get higher than two. Keep practicing steering.

12+ Stacks is pretty much a wipe when he does the stomp.

should never go above 5 tbh with a decent driver.

we finally killed him yesterday, and since our healers couldn't manage too many stacks me and the other driver (we were 2 warriors), had to work our ass so much that we didn't get more then 2 stacks, maybe got 3 from only 1 volcano :P
P.S.: quote what illana says, u should not go above 5 with good drivers, otherwise u'll get too much dmg.

Just look at the healing meters and judge for yourself.

At 10 stacks you would need some kind of raid stack with cooldowns in order to keep up with the damage. 10 stacks are doable provided you stomp out the volcanoes that got you to 10. Not only does the stomp hit very hard, the immolation from spark does as well, and each volcano "hit" does more and more damage as well.

So when you get past 10, your really betting your money on RNG to keep people alive.

10 or more is ugly. I just healed an alt 10 man today. Granted, all 3 of our healers (druid, paladin, shaman) were just barely over 359 ilvl, butmore than 10 seemed to be pretty ugly. We did manage to survive 16 stacks once but that was with 2 tranq's + tree form + all 3 healers ooming. We wiped to healer mana a little bit later.

If your drivers are good, 8 stacks should be max, and raid damage should be fine.

Which tacks do you mean? Eruption (on players), molten armor or superheated (on boss)?

Like Frozendekay said more than 8 Stacks shouldn't occur. More than 12 and you surely will wipe due to his stomp damage or the healers going oom.

You should not be over 3-4 if the guy who is "driving" is good, especially with the nerf on volcanos. (he doesn't activate volcanos behind him)

Is it really hard to do the math?

Superheated becomes active at 5 minutes right ? which acts like his enrage ability.

We are getting to Phase 2 but superheated stacks are at around 3-5 stacks which makes his first stomp insta wipe us.

Our problem is our DPS are to slow on legs (we had no dots active and DPS only hit right foot).

Are other guilds telling there DPS to just go nuts on the legs with full dots but just dont cleave ?

Lol. He most definately still activates volcanoes behind him. On 1 attempt he had 3 in front of him and 1 directly behind and still activated the one behind him. It just "prefers" ones in front, it's not 100%.

You have to judge when to pull dps from adds to legs to put him in before he starts gaining superheated. If you just rely on the players steering you will probably get to 25% too slowly and just wipe from superheated. Fragments must still be killed in 30 seconds, but sparks can be offtanked for an extended amount of time.

10-12 seems reasonable when we do it. Over that it gets scary.

We do try hang around the middle for healing rains and CH tho.
Both our grps have 2 shammy's, 1 pally as healers and Ive been in both groups.

If you stay sorta close together, raid heals become a lot easier. make someone to follow maybe?

it's ok on normal with 8 stacks but not for long but on HC I guess we had problems since 5-6, especially when stomping

More than 7-8 will mess with you healers mana badly.

On normal mode we didn't care that much of those stacks; don't even remember how many did we reach... was a kill after 3-4 pulls or so.

But on heroic, we killed it after we managed to not get more than 6 stacks. We reached like... 8 + 4 stacks at some point but for only a few seconds.
But in general 10 seconds + with 8-9 stacks will lead eventually to a wipe, in 25 man hc at least.
