Your Power supply is out of proportion in power. It's more than enough power to support two GTX570s and still having a LOT of headroom.
May I suggest http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-088-_-Product for roughly the same price?
As for Motherboard, you COULD consider a z68.

The rest of the build looks solid and well-rounded, despite the case being buttugly. You'd have much pleasure with it.

that case is gross. also what tetrisgoat said.
Also, there's a much faster ssd for that price range: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-729-_-Product

The motherboard seems fine, but it IS a microATX board, and you're getting an X-ATX case. Ie, small formfactor motherboard, in one of the biggest cases there are :P

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-500-_-Product seems like a better deal. Unless you don't like the colour

    edit - here's a black one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-498-_-Product

Oops haha I haven't had my caffeine did not even notice it was a micro atx board till you said something, Thanks. Case wise it seems like Cooler masters are the ones or are there better? I want a case that will last me awhile I think with the HAF X (NON NVIDIA) I should be fine.

It will indeed last you a while. But it's not my cup of, hm, tea.

The Corsair Obsidian 800D is a case that will probably last you a good 10-20 years, and it darn well should considering the price. If you decide to try watercooling, it's also one of the best. It's also far less plastically or ugly or "bling" than the HAF-series. More sleek, professional looking. Which I appreciate.
I have a hard time taking the HAF-series seriously, although they are decent on the cooling side. The smaller Obsidian cases are also very good.

But you shouldn't change case because I don't like them; Get what you like and you can't be displeased.

    lol @ the case

Don't buy something like that, just looks silly, rest is fine, save for the psu which has been mentioned as overkill.

Cooler Master makes some great cases with good features but if you did some searching you could find cases a little cheaper. If you decide to go with Cooler Master though I doubt you will regret it.

For that board it says DDR3 2133/1866/1600/1333/1066 for ram. SO I would want to grab some 2133 sticks? what is the difference between http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231314 or getting http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231468

if you go with a z68 board and do the ssd caching you can go with a smaller sized ssd.
the difference between the 2 are the timings and the speed. just go with the 1600. you get faster timings and in order to get the 2133 speed you have to OC the memory settings in the bios regardless.

I'd get the 1600MHz RAM. Like said, better timings, and they matter more than the rated speed.
Not that you'll notice an actual difference outside benchmarkingprograms.

As for SSD-caching mentioned by the other fellow, it is indeed a feature on z68-boards. However, the caching will only use up 64GiB of the space (IF you decide to use it, it's optional), leaving the rest to be used as one wish (ie, dedicated game-drive)

Just want to thank you all again for the help, one last question if I wanted to do SLI would it be better for me to grab two of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127510 or skip SLI and get one good card like GTX 570?

Are you intending to use one screen or more? Because if you use more, games will probably demand more videoRAM than you can supplement (seeing that the 1GB of the cards won't stack up).

To be honest, get one bigger card.
While the performance of SLI (nvidias multi-card technology) in pure FPS surpasses singlecards, they are rarely worth the hassle. Many people experience microstuttering, the above card will be getting a LOT more heat.
Also, getting two "budgetcards" to start with in SLI is a bad idea imo.
I'd rather you get a single more powerful card now, and further down the road, half a year (or a whole year or two, with many of the games being consoleports) when you think your card don't cut it anymore, it's cheaper getting another 570 then, and get more performance out of that rather than getting the new 670 for instance.

Those are my thoughts and opinions at least!

Stick with a single card, IMO.
    GTX570 is more than enough.
560ti is more than enough, too, honestly.
    My suggestion for PSU

Assuming all he plays is Wow, yes.
I have that PSU. It's alright. The one I linked is on a whole other level, both qualitywise, soundwise, efficiency and powerwise (you can pull 750+w from it, despite being called 650w), and are in the series that Seasonic sends to Corsair, so they can rebrand them as their AX-lineup. :P

if you check my sig, I also have that PSU lol. I've had no issues with it

The 570 is probably the best bet for now, as it allows for a massive sli upgrade down the line

That doesn't mean there aren't better. It does what it should, and it does them okay. Your build is also far from being able to actually tax the PSU in any event. :P

yeah well... you're... smart and stuff. Stop making me look dumb! :-p

I wasn't saying there aren't better, just trying to save the OP a couple bucks and a 650 should be more than enough on his rig, even with a 570.

PS - I'm going to upgrade to an overclocked i5 (or possibly an IB when they launch if I wait) and hopefully a 570 or a 560ti

So... I probably still won't be able to tax my PSU but it doesn't matter!
Oh, I'll also be running 5 120 case fans and possibly a second hdd!

still not taxing... oh well... back to doing work while I'm at work.

I LIED! I'll be lurking the computer forums and pretending to work!

I am hoping this build will get my foot in the door on gaming PC. Yes I play WoW but I am also looking in building a PC for the future. Elder Scrolls, BF 3 and MW 3. I am making the hop from console gaming to PC . Haven't looked at the specs required but I am hoping this setup will be suitable to run Witcher 2 on max settings.
