    Format my laptop with OEM disc

    Fast question, I got a laptop that I wanna reformat, however I only got "recovery" cds, no clean windows OEM cd...

    So I was thinking! Is it possible to use an OEM disc from ANOTHER windows 7 computer, and use the product key from the laptop?

    As long as it is the same version of the operating system. For example you have Windows 7 Home Premium then the OEM disk has to Windows 7 Home Premium. Also when you activate you will more than likely have to phone it in.

    By not using your recovery disks you will have to visit the laptop manufacturers website for drivers also.

    Ok, I got the driver cd, but cheap ass asus didnt give me a windows cd, and i even had to burn the recover cds myself ^^ I was just wondering, Not really going to do anything about it now, I was just wondering for the future, thx m8
