    Question about that....

I have a few ASUS Q-Connectors left over from previous builds... can I use them with an ASROCK MoBo?

And this bit has me... slightly worried:

    Expansion Slots
Expansion Slots Total (Free) 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (single at x16 or dual at x8/x8)
    3 x PCIe 2.0 x1
    3 x PCI

Yeah, I'd say maybe going back to the slightly pricier Sabertooth or Z68 V PRO or something if you expect to SLI or anything.

Don't those come with the mobo anyway?

Would just like to remind you, Djinni, that the Sabertooth's just a touch cheaper, while not appearing to have any lacking features. >>

    the evo has 2 rj-45 ports ;-)

...which helps you how, if I might ask? o.o

Also, related to my color-scheme mention earlier: It seems quite a few might be more concerned about the colors, since the Sabertooth is easily trumping every category it appears in... When I search for mobos on hardware.no that is.

Passthough Internet is great for me so I can use 2 machines on 1 connection... (i'm only allowed 1 connection :P)

It wasn't a big deciding factor ... there are other slightly more difficult ways to do it... but for an extra £3 i'll take it onboard.

(Hubs are not an option sadly since they are detected and banned by my ISP at Uni since I'm only paying for a single machine to connect, not a PC, XBOX and PS3 etc....)

Wha-? Woah, your uni is really weird.

If you've got so much money to spend I'd really consider going for a 27' screen. Most of them still run @ 1920x1080 so you won't need more processing power. But the size will be awesome!

I'd also consider investing at least 50 pounds into an Asus Xonar soundcard. If feel that if you're going to invest 300 pounds into GPUs, you might as well invest a little into good sound. http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...0-1UAN00Z.html

If you need a new headset too, I can recommend the Asus Xonar Xense for a dedicated APU + high quality headset.

    I already have 2 22" screens though... a 27" would be pointless....

As for sound... i'll have to see about that... it's not top of my list... it's something I can easily upgrade at a later date.

6970 is the better out of the 2. The 560ti is somewhere between the 6870 and 6950 (closer to the latter)
The 570 is comparable to the 6970.

That MSI card is quieter though. Might want to find a 6970 with a twin frozr cooler too. The reference cooler is litterally on par soundwise with a leafblower.

that is 2 560ti's by the way ;-)

Silly phone, only displaying half a page.
560 in SLI is better than 6970, ofcourse :P

But going SLI right off the bat eliminates the performance upgrade of going Crossfire with the 6970 (next year?). Since that would again give higher performance than SLI 560.
It's not like you need SLI or Crossfire at this moment.

The performance upgrade from CrossFire would only be needed to be able to use 3 screens in eyefinity with newer games at decent settings.... but since Nvidia surround 2d and 3d requires 2 cards already....
