get sandybridge now or wait for ivybridge?

Been doing a bit of homework on Sandy and Ivybridge as im in the market for a new gaming PC, I'm looking at the i5-2500k as a reference point (I dont see the point in spending an extra however much it is for an i7-2600k purely for hyperthreading)

Is it worth buying an i5 now or waiting for Ivybridge, same goes for my GFX card, get a 580 now or wait for the nVidia 600 series to come out?

and cheeky side question: Is it worth getting an SSD?
    1) Load the amount of weight I would deadlift onto the bench
    2) Unrack
    3) Crank out 15 reps
    4) Be ashamed of constantly skipping leg day

If you wait, you will never buy anything PC related.

Get the i5 and the 580 now. That's what I would do. I wouldn't count on the 6 series (wouldn't consider even needing it, honestly) being worth the initial cost for the avg user. Also, the i5 is more than enough currently, and IB isn't until at least Q1 2012.

Pretty sure Ivy Bridge is going to end up being delayed until mid 2012 sadly So I'd go with the i5 2500K.

Are you happy enough with your current computer, to be able to wait for so long? I am... Also expecting SSD prices to come down a bit more around then so I can swoop up some bargains
