    Motherboard

Looking at motherboards and the one I picked has been out of stock for a good while, so I decided to go with one of newegg deals.

Is this a good board? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-13128494-L04A

Going to hold a i5 2500k and while I won't overclock it right away, down the road I may.

Short answer: Yes. I don't know how it compares up to your unnamed previously picked board, but that's a very fine one.
edit - and I like your sentiments about overclocking. You shouldn't feel forced to do it, but when/if you feel your CPU no longer cuts it, overclocking it may postpone when you need to spend money to replace it, increasing its lifespan. Having the possibility and not do it, is always better than missing it and wanting it. Especially as the pricedifference in CPU isn't that big, and that Z68 has features beyond overclocking.

hey mate I actually went for this board myself. I've had it for 3 weeks and not only is it solid performer it looks brilliant too. got it after seeing it recommended in a review.

Have a read of this: http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages..._review,1.html i read quite a lot of the reviews on that site and they are good.

What RAM are you going with?

Hear ya there...Wanted to buy them so bad over the weekend but alas, now I am going with the others you linked myself because of the price difference. Oh well.

I don't honestly see much of a difference between the two besides the voltage thing.

    I don't know, I'll do my research :P

There's not a difference between the two, functionally. The snipers are just low profile and don't have that big ugly heatsink fins on the top, which are unnecessary, unless you're OC'ing, which you don't need to. I run snipers in mine personally, the standard 1.5V ones though.

There are 64.99$ Sniper RAM modules you can get, which offer low profile heatsinks, nice if you want maximum compatibility with large aftermarket coolers.
    Such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231416

Or alternatively you could go for this combo deal
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.689155 - 214.99$
Which gives the motherboard and higher speed RAM (rated at 1866 instead of 1600MHZ) and comes supplied with the heatsinks that you prefer.

Or for even more savings you could opt for
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.689144 - 189.98$
The RAM is of a slower speed when compared to the first bundle, but in all honesty you won't notice the difference during gameplay and day to day tasks.
