    Building Computer

Hey I'm going to build a new computer soon and was wondering how this would perform with WoW. Say Ultra settings and 25 man raids. Here are the specs:

Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz Dual-Core (Will upgrade later to i5 2500k)

ASRock H61M-VS LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Windows 7 Home Premum 64 Bit

ASUS Black 18X DVD-ROM (Optic Drive)

    Corsair TW3X4G1333C9 XMS3 4GB 2 X 2 GB (RAM)

    EVGA GeForce GTX 560ti

    Western Digital 500gb Hard Drive

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 600 Watt Power Supply

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

    Thanks!

Why not exactly? I know that video card is beast and the i3 2100 is a pretty good cpu. It's about 800 actually, I really don't want to go over that.

Imo get the i5-2500k now and cut the costs a bit by getting an amd 6870 or 6950... would be able to run on ultra easily. Even 5770's can run wow on ultra... the cpu is a bigger bottleneck for wow.
Oh and just noticed the mobo... don't know much about h61 but if you want to oc an i5-2500k I'm pretty sure you need a p67 or z68 mobo.

It may have some slight issues in the 25 mans on ultra. It's not the graphics that are important, it's the CPU that's going to make or break your performance in WoW.

Also, with that budget, I would reconsider the H61 and get at least a H67, it will let you pick up an Ivy Bridge cpu down the road. If you're getting a 2500k however, I would go with at least the P67. There's not much of a point going with the unlocked cpu if you're going to get the locked motherboard.

I have that psu and it works really well, the fact that it's modular is a big plus for me.

I would also try to find a 2x4gig kit instead of a 4 gig kit.

Yeah, the H61 is Intel's budget chipset and doesn't allow any CPU overclocking. The CPU and GPU will actually be okay for WoW, the i3-2100 is a strong enough performer that you won't be lacking for too much.

If you are planning on overclocking at all, now or down the road, get a P67 or Z68 based motherboard. The i3-2100 won't overclock (past a 1-2MHz BCLK bump maybe), but the non-K i5s and i7s will overclock four bins past their normal turbos and the K CPUs will overclock as far as your skill and cooling system will allow it to go.
    Super casual.

The 560 Ti is a good place to be for playing WoW, as it can't demand much more from a graphics card.

Spring for the i5 2500k and a p67 mobo if at all possible, this will give you the biggest performance boost for WoW.

You can always forgo or just postpone buying the optical drive to shave a few bucks.

If you're American, some people were talking about a deal at.. Micro Centre? or something like that, where you get $80 off when you buy a p67 mobo with a 2500k. Its worth checking out at least

Ok guys I have revised this build a little bit and want you guys to take a look at these specs and tell me what you think. Please tell me how it will perform overall on games and WoW. I have watched vids of this graphics card running Crysis 2 even Crysis at 1280x720p maxed out settings. I hope you guys think it's good this time lol. Oh yeah it's the same price as the build that doesn't work up top. Here they are:

    Intel Core i5-2500K

    MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) LGA 1155 Motherboard

Windows 7 Home Premum 64 Bit

ASUS Black 18X DVD-ROM (Optic Drive)

    Corsair TW3X4G1333C9 XMS3 4GB 2 X 2 GB (RAM)

    SAPPHIRE 100338L Radeon HD 6770 1GB

    Western Digital 500gb Hard Drive

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 600 Watt Power Supply

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Again how will this perform with WoW and other games and is it a good build overall? Total price is $720ish

can either drop the cpu to an i5 2500 (not the 2500K) or get a p67/z68 motherboard. h67 can't overclock

video card get at least a 6870 or gtx 560, PSU can be 500W to save some money

Would there be a big performance drop from the i5 2500k to the regular 2500? I will be playing other games such as Starcraft 2 also.

What would be the point in subbing the h67 for a p67 and getting a regular 2500 when it has a locked multiplier?
