I thought it might be nice to get a thread about prog rock going, so I'll start with a couple of my favorite bands, King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer:

I've been really into Pain of Salvation lately. They've changed their sound pretty heavily between many albums, but are really one of the best groups I've come across.



Symphony X is an old favorite, though they're less progressive and more metal recently.
