Why is my default Tidyplates always this useless and how do I get it to be like the bottom one? (above)

Pick a different theme.

there are many optional themes you can add by downloading them @curse or wowinterface
when you have them installed, just pick them in the optionsmenu

Ahh my alt didnt have some themes loaded.. thanks.

Try installing the addon again, i got 4 to chose from by default, Graphite, Grey, Neon, and Quatre, they all have separate folders in the addons folder.

Just so you know, that top screencap is the "Graphite" theme, and the bottom one looks more like "Quatre".
