Thread: New computer!

    New computer!

    Hey guys,

Recently built my friend a computer along the same lines as the one I'm about to post but I'm going for a couple of hundred cheaper, my main concern is the PSU won't be strong enough for the 2 560's, Google tells me I should be fine but I thought I'd post to make sure. Any suggestions on alternate parts would be great as well, I'm Australian though so Newegg and Amazon are a no go sadly

    Hard drive:
    F3 Spin-point $55.55

    Ram:
    8GB G.Skill DDR3 12800 $69.00

    Case:
    Haf X $199

    Psu:
    Corsair 650HX $139.00

    GPU:
    2x Inno 3D 560 Ti $429.00

    Cpu:
    i5 2500k $209.00

    Mobo:
    Asus P8Z68-V Pro $235.00

All up it's $1335 and I'm guessing about $100ish for shipping.

Skip the 3D imo for Twin Frozr cards imo, but that's just me.

The computer "can" handle the load you're desiring, but I'd think it'll be far above the seemingly desired 50% load.

    Cheers for the quick reply.

The Frozr is about $50 more expensive sadly, and for that I can get EVGA pcb's instead. The 750hx is like, $100 more than the 650 which is bullshit, since it's cheaper than the 650 on amazon :/ Other psu's seem to be around the same price. Should I just suck it up?

You could cut back on the case to save money elsewhere. Also Antec Truepower 750W is also an option instead of Corsair PSUs if it's more reasonably priced. SLI on 650W is possible, but it's getting pretty close to 'red line' already and if you overclock the PSU might have problems.

    Trolling should be.

Found one at $137, thanks for the suggestion I'm pretty set on the case, the 932 is ugly as hell imo, any others?

Seasonic might also have alternative PSUs at different prices. Just fyi.

I looked at a couple of the recommended ones and they were stupidly overpriced, could you recommend some models?
