    Ragnaros 10 Normal - Phase 2

What have you guys find to work best for the seeds?

We initially tried the Tankspot/Learntoraid option of spreading out very far and grouping up in the center when they spawned. While this can work, it seems time inefficient since you have to wait for the adds to reach the group before doing any AoE to them. Then we saw Paragon's 25 Heroic kill and thought their strat of grouping initially, using timers to shift and AoE them down before reaching the group was an impressive strat. After trying this second strat for a number of wipes, it just seems unreliable as the BigWigs timer isn't 100% accurate and if you're a second late in moving, it's death. Sometimes the seeds spawn 3-4 seconds after the timer and end up spread out a bit.

Any tips on an easier way to reliably handle this phase? We're fairly certain it'll be a kill if we can get past that phase.

    Thanks for any ideas.

Yeah use the way you first describe and stop trying to implement a World first heroic Ragnaros 25 strategy for 10 man regular. We choose to group in the middle in melee range so we don't have to bother with avoiding the smash. Before the explosion use raid cooldowns like AM, PW:B etc. the adds wont kill you unless you're really slow on healing people.

Paragon is the best guild in the world.

I wouldn't suggest copying their strats under the assumption that, however easy they may make them look, they'll be successfull for you.

What we do, is we all clump around on the left side of the platform, (don't stack, just make sure you're all on the same side of the platform) and when the seeds spawn we all shift to the other side of the platform, this way you can take way less damage from the seeds exploding, and kill all the adds together on their way to you. Next Molten Seed, same thing, but starting from the right side.

Smash should be pretty easy to avoid, as it's marked by three huge lava pools about five feet away from you, and you just have to get out of it's line of fire (move two feet to your left)

Paragon moves away because on Heroic the adds get a 25% damage buff for every add near them. So they get away and kill them before they reach them. On 10 you only need a couple people actually doing aoe. We use a demo lock and a boomkin that puts himself in solor(?) eclipse for Hurricane. The rest of the dps stays on Rag. With this it usually takes us 3 waves of adds and with a few more pieces of gear we will be pushing 2 waves.

You can still try Paragon's method, just have one person have their camera set so it's always facing the entrance of Ragnaros' platform. You can see the seed jump out from the lava, as soon as this occurs it's up to that person to shout at everyone and get them moving. There's a good 1-2 seconds gap for you to run after seeing the seeds jump from the lava, so as long as they shout out on time, you'll be fine.

This is what I'd recommend for 10-man, where you got a ton of space. For 25-man it's tricker, and we spread out on both sides, then gather up in middle.

And as others have said, trying to use Paragon's tactic in an average guild doing normal modes, is gonna end ugly. It simply requires too high precision and zero mistakes.

watch this guide http://youtu.be/8tMRMG7KOTQ fast forward to around 5 mins, gather left for first adds then run right as soon as you see their spawn location confirmed, keep killing the boss then aoe the adds down when they get to you, heal up confirm the spawn then run left, aoe and heal, rinse and repeat.

Thanks a lot for the responses.

Yeah, strats always look simpler in videos, but by no means was I thinking of ONLY doing it Paragon's way. But again, all responses were appreciative and will help very much.

What i did was get the people to left side, spread out 6 yard wait for seeds to appear, once seeds appear then start moving all to right side (stack for buff, heal, aoe etc)
Then again, spead out 6 yard right side rinse repeat.

Paragon method seems easy but for guild that has ppl with average latency of 250-400ms, that's just practically impossible.

Now we're struggling with the fire lines and people's mistakes. The fire lines were just too quick for 250-400ms ppl to respond properly and sometimes with adds making people decided a bit too slow even we told them to avoid fire lines first and asap...

Group left, 6y apart to prevent chaining the initial seed damage, start running right just before the seeds spawn and you can avoid the damage entirely. Then just vice-versa. Only tricky part was engulfing flames in the wrong place at the wrong time.

stay spread before seeds, gather after between boss and hammer smash point (so you can avoid lava, cleave boss etc) - pure win in 10man normal

You can see what my guild did in the 10man video in my signature below.
basically we start left and spread 6 yards out before running 2/3rds right. When adds are down we spread losely right before moving 2/3rds left.
