Notch is the creator of Minecraft. And I agree. As nice as that shit looks, BF3 in game already makes my eyes water from beauty. I don't need to look down and go "HOLY SHIT REAL DIRT... AND A ROCK! OMG THAT ROCK!"

/edit: and if you STILL have doubts about it, just try to think of animating a bunch of voxels. How are you gonna do it? Use key-frame animations, like they did in the early 90s? Yea, that'll look great! Or maybe skin each one of those freaking voxels to a bunch of bones? Any idea how insane the number of calculations is - every frame? Even with instancing? You can probably fap to an entire porn site before even a single frame has been rendered.

but yeah, the superlative-ridden douche voice from the original video is lying like hell, if he presented downsides and toned down a bit it would be more interesting
