Some rather well-known pieces that are among my favorite ones. So, so, so many others out there. Not sure which one is THE one for me.
My favorite classical composer is Schumann, though.

    Edit: typo.

Not classical music, but certainly one of the best composers of this time. Really, for me this man is a genius.

Depends what your definition of classical is; orchestral =/= always classical.

In the musical world yes.... but out in the real world people pretty much refer to anything without words and written before they were born as classical music... at least I haven't ever heard John Williams referred to as classical music

Personally I am just happy when people have interest in the music and the specific labeling of it really doesn't matter much I mean there aren't many people who would enjoy something by Bach if they know it is actually Baroque and not Classical

Ima huge fan of anything by Brahms, Beethoven (except first movement of the 5th ><), Dvorak is underrated but incredible as well... if you like sound tracks James Horner has written some of the most amazing soundtracks, like someone else said Camille Saint Saens is never a bad choice

I am a fan of the Immortal Beloved Soundtrack, it has some very good excerpts of Beethoven's greatest pieces.

My favorite would be split into three. Missa Solemnis, Symphony #9 and his 5th Symphony.

I know i know.. those choices are obvious to most, but hey.. they really are awe-inspiring.

Beethoven in my mind was just a pure master of his craft. Legendary.

I'm a huge fan of classical (solo) piano music by Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin and others.

and of course pianists like Horowitz, Richter etc.

Am a heavy music listener and i love classical music. One of my favourite ones is Tchaikovsky's Marche Slave - youtube.com/watch?v=GSf8uF5UE-U - can listen this for hours ... Also the second movement of the 9th symphony by Beethoven ....

  18. #18
ok, so we've had some gentle piano pieces but now it's time for something heavier!

I personally cannot say I have a favorite, I just like Classical Music. Country music is the second runner up.

So much better than anything else raping my ears at the moment.

I'm a fan of classical music and my favourite piece is probably Dennis Brain - Mozart Concerto No. 4 in E Flat Major (I am biased as he is (was?) my grandfather).
I do enjoy the contemporary piano music that Einaudi creates though.
