lol so i have to admin im a bit of a closet NCIS fan. Its not the best show out there but its entertaining enough to watch and if you miss an episode it doesnt really matter because there isnt a whole lot of main story to follow. So today im watching one episode and its about some random code hidden in some random game blah blah blah and thats what leads to this amazing exchange of nonesense. Lets just say this is one of the stupidest lines ever written

The same thing happens with House, except since most of us aren't doctors we don't get how inane most of the dialog is to real doctors. lol of course any tv series has a healthy dose of crap and any technical jargon is usually made up with very little factual background. Im sure its a lot harder to write medical show because it would take excessive research. Not a lot of people are doctors so shows like house can get away with it pretty easily. However just about anyone that has ever seen a computer can realize that "12 inch meg pipe" in a computer is just plain dumb. Haha i wonder if the writer was just trolling us on purpose or if he is really that stupid.

I think that they were literally just trolling. Hence the title of the thread "NCIS trolling gamers" and what not.

I mean I found it funny that people got so angry, look at the comments in the video. I'd say it was a troll well done

It has something to do with the fact that most people don't know anything about computers, but they know how many cores their computer has. Pretty much everyone has 2 or 4 core CPU, so when they hear "16 core" they imagine something like a supercomputer.
If they hear about something like i7-2600k with dual GTX 590, they will think "only 4 cores, that's noting".

When Big Bang Theory is talking WoW stuff they don't really get it completely right either.
Specially when Sheldon gets his WoW account hacked and get all items stolen. Then the whole episode is about tracking down the hacker so he can get his ostrich back.
I don't know if they got the Age of Conan stuff right, since I never played that game.

Then again, when I think about it, I've watched a lot of NCIS, Criminal Minds and CSI and I've never explicitly reacted to what they're saying, or doing (except for, of course, the sharing keyboard parts). I guess we're just not paying attention to the obvious flaws so we just take their word for it when we're watching.

My ex-girlfriend, a photographer, gets pissed everytime they say the infamous line on CSI though; "Enhance the pixels."
