Old-fashioned CPU makes it pretty weak for WoW and SC2, dunno about D3. For it's price it's reasonable pick for gaming use but you wont be playing anything newer than two years at maxed settings. Should work at medium/high settings at comfortable speed on current games.

    have it

i have it, wow will definitly work on it.

edit: Its a fine laptop, in my opinion. I rarely play games that have high graphic card demands. WoW hast always worked on it(don't play atm though). Not on the highest resolution and stuff, but you will have no problems playing it.
I have had some trouble with it though, had to get the mainboard changed or something. And the Driver crashes pretty often while surfing on Firefox, dont know why.
You could probably get a better one, if you ask around in this forum. There are a lot of people with big brains here that know more about computer stuff.

the 5742G LX will do what you want fine,
LoL is not a very demanding game at all and WoW if set to the right settings will work like a charm, dont listen to all this "graphics=gameplay" shit that gets enforced around these days, The top played games and all 2+ years old and someof the better competetive games are even older (CSS etc)

All the cpu's should be able to handle Wow. For the grapic cards well those are more like midrange. Mine has a i5 430m and 5850 and i can run wow on high(25man) ultra(10man). That's mainly because it doesnt have the turbo boost the 480m has.

So you should be fine i would rather invest a bit more and buy something with atleast a 6850m/gt 555m if your wanne play some newer games on high or higher.
For medium-high all those should fit (Get the i5 XXXX over the i5 XXX)

By the way, the Acer Aspire 5750G is the upgraded (sandy bridge) model, cost me £541 from play.com. I use it now, wow on ultra at native resolution at 60+ fps. Would highly recommend it for a cheap, great laptop.

Next day courier delivery for free from play.com btw, it's cheaper and better than what you're currently looking at. i7/8gb ram version for more money, but not worth it IMO.

Just checked, its down to £490 which is a bloody steal for this laptop. get it now!

Okay, I'll try to clear this up for you.

    The one I linked: i5 2410M, 4GB RAM, 1GB 540M
The second one: Not worth the £150 increase, for just some RAM and a slightly bigger HDD.
The third one: Probably worth it if you need the i7, possibly for video rendering or something, but I doubt you'd do that on a laptop anyway.
The fourth one: In my opinion, it's crap. 17.3" is just too big to hold the same resolution, believe me the 15.6" is well enough. It's graphics are sub-par, and not worth paying another £130 for.

In my opinion, you should go with the 1st or 3rd one. If you do a lot of youtube rendering, I would get the third one, but I do a fair amount on my one (which is the 1st link in your last post), and I render a 15 min video in an hour, just as an example. Apart from that, I can't see the reason to get the i7 upgrade.

In terms of RAM, if you feel that 4GB is enough (I believe it's plenty from my own experiences), you can always change it. The RAM is the easiest thing to change about a laptop, and if you need to, you can add more.

So overall, I would highly reccomend the first link in your last post. At the price it's currently at (some sale, I think), it's an absolute steal, and I wish I could've saved the £50 :[

Hope it serves you well, good luck

I work for Acer, and I can tell you that that computer will be fine for Wow, but will probably not run Diablo 3 on Ultra

    CPU: Intel i5-2410M / OS: Win7 64-Bit / RAM: 4GB 1333MHz / 500GB SATA-II / GFX: Nvidia GTX 540M 1GB Optimus
    - Like they already mentioned is what you would want, however the optimus system on the Nvidia cards is bullshit.. Does not work half the time so people have to reinstall and whatnot.. Its suuuch a waste of time.. Rather just recharge the battery more often.. You can however turn it off =)
